Move aside Madrid...

So i've done my next block of 14 fixtures, in which ive won 11 and drawn 3 scoring 22 goals and conceding 11. The only negative point amongst these fixtures is the Spanish Cup Semi Final defeat to Real Madrid (2-1 on aggregate)

Although i did inevitably go out 2-1 on aggregate a win against Real Madrid is always nice :D

A huge result, really needed a win and managed to grind one out in the end, Soldado with the winner on 70mins :)

Soldado has taken over as top scorer for me in the league with 15, and Muniain has the 3rd highest average rating in the league, 12 league goals and is also second in the assist table with 11 despite being injured for the past month XD

We've slightly dropped in the form tables, picking up a couple of draws in the last couple of weeks, this hasn't been helped by the amount of injuries and suspensions i've had, Muniain, De La Red and Sandro have all been out of action for a few weeks and Javi Martinez and 2 of my centrehalves have had suspensions :(

Despite all of this i still sit atop the league, only narrowly though however with Madrid hot on my heels, im only top due to the fact i beat Madrid at the Bernabeu giving them there only defeat of the season

The end of March and April are going to be key months in the title race, i still have both Barcelona and Real Madrid to play at home which will inevitabely decide where the title goes! But if things continue to go the way they are currently the title should be lifted by Espanyol for the first time in their history!

Another 12 games played, 10 wins, 1 draw and one defeat which was only my 2nd defeat in all competitions all season :)

Relatively comfortable 3-1 win at home to Valencia, seems very strange that last season this would have been seen as a big game but now Valencia at home is now one i would expect to win quite easily :D

Sporting CP in the Europa League semi final 1st leg, completely dominated the game could have had even more goals, set us up very nicely for the 2nd leg which we won 1-0 away at Sporting and are now in the final against Olympique Lyonnais (H)

Huge result, this almost guarantees us the title after a superb hard fought victory, great game end to end with chances for both teams, fortunately my lads managed to be more clinical infront of goal and grab us the 3pts XD!

So i have 3 games left to play, if we win our next game the league is virtually ours and with a Europa League final also to come the season is shaping up very likely! Will Espanyol see the job through or will we lose the last 3 games and throw away the league or will they deliver what they've wanted for so long + a europa league trophy to boot? Lets just wait and see... ^^)

Iker Muniain the little beauty pops up in the 91st minute to bag us a much deserved winner and means we lift the Europa League trophy for the first time in the clubs history :D

Finished the league 6pts clear of Real, without losing a league game all season an absolutely fantastic achievement for the team and we also scored the most goals in the whole entire league (H)

At just the tender age of 19 Iker Muniain becomes runner up in the Spanish player of the season awards, he was immense for me all year and has another quality 10+ years of football left in him in yet :wub:!
One SS i forgot to include was that Soldado was joint league top scorer along with Alvaro Negredo, both bagging 22 goals each. Munain was 4th in the league scoring charts with 19.

The Spanish Young Player of The Year award could have gone to, an Espanyol player, an Espanyol player or an Espnayol player! Absolutely delighted to have taken a clean sweep on this award, all 3 of them deserved it to be fair but for me Muniain did just shade it 18 goals and 14 assists can't be sniffed at :)

There you have it guys, the dream really has become a reality in just 3 seasons, but the story does not finish here, god no! Winning the title once is easy, flukes happen (Chelsea even did that!), defending it for the next couple of years will now be the toughest challenge Espanyol will have to face. Instead of chasing, we are now being chased, everyone wants to beat us, but obviously we will not let that happen...

Yep, I should certainly think you can win the big'un. Cheers, not played it for a while, trying to make a nice tactic using my Arsenal save :) Good luck for next season.

Hey mate just wanted to ask whats your transfer budget maybe you could get vela if you have a good amount of money i'm sure he'd be imense with Muniain :D
 
Oright mate, erm my transfer budget is £40million but not gonna look to make drastic changes, will have a look at Vela, but currently got Soldado and Munian scoring for fun :)
 
How much am I expected to pay for Soldado or Muniain mate? Summer 2012.
 
In Summer 2011, beginning of 11/12 season i paid £27,000,000 for Soldado and £20,000,000 for Muniain, hows you game going mate? I'm just starting the 12/13 season, should probably post an update soon
 
Okay thanks, only wanted to know because Vela-Obinna partnership isn't bringing many goals. It's going alright, just lost 2-1 to Panathinaikos away in Euro Cup secong knockout. Hoping to smash them at home :D
 
Yeah should turn them over at home, Soldado and Muniain got 40+ each in all comps last season :) hows the league going mate?
 
I just wanna say im speechless you have won the league and euro i sit here praising how well youve done well done m8 you have really owned that league im looking forward to see how you do next season :)
 
:O WHAT!? Carlos Vela's my top scorer with 14 in all comps!
It's going good, dropped back to second after a tough away game at Getafe, 1-1, same day Barcelona had bottom of the league Castellon.
 
Not ideal mate is it! Hmm think you need to invest in some top strikers like mine then :P
