Hi there,

After a problem with my PC it was restored to factory settings and since then the 3D view on my game is too jumpy to watch. It was fine before it went in to be fixed (I didn't have to adjust in game graphics settings or switch off the crowd graphics or anything like that for it to play smoothly).

Is it possible that the act of restoring factory settings has affected graphics quality? I've had a look around online and people are mentioning graphics driver updates (currently my DirectX Diagnostic Tool Display tab says I've got Radeon x1300, version 6.14.0010.6631) - is there a later version that can be downloaded which could solve my problem?

As you can probably tell, I'm not up to speed on this type of thing and I'd really appreciate any help. I've got to get Luton town promoted.

Thanks

Try unticking crowd and sky in your display settings, mine works fine after doing that, had exactly same problem

go to this page. Here you can download graphics drivers, downloading the latest ones may solve your problem. Near the top right of the you should see 4 tabs. Set the top one to Graphics, the second one to whatever operating system you have (xp, vista,7 etc), the third one to Radeon and the final one to X1xxx series. click 'view results' and scroll to the bottom of the page and choose option 1 'full software suite' . click the download button and it should all take care of itself. reply here or PM me if you have any problems

Hi Jak,

Thanks for your help. I've followed your advice but upon installing I get a message saying that the software 'has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility'. It goes on to say that continuing may 'impair or destabilize correct operation' and that they strongly recommend that I stop installation. It gives me the option to continue anyway, what's your advice?

Matt

are you sure you chose the correct operating system (32bit or 64bit)?

I selected the XP Pro / Home operating system (my DirectX Diagnostic Tool says Windows XP Home edition is my Operating System).

im not sure anymore, i've never had a message like that when trying to install drivers

OK, thanks anyway.

Looking around online a lot of people are saying to ignore it and continue anyway. The SEGA troubleshooting webpage has a link to the webpage from which I'm installing it so I might just chance it. Although having just paid out to get it fixed I'm wary of ballsing it up again.

If Lee says continue, then i would continue. He's like The Oracle from The Matrix.

and i suppose if many people are saying the same thing, you may as well go for it :)

Hooray!

I took the plunge and the game's running smoothly. Thanks to all of you for your help and advice.:D

Boooo!

It looks like I was jumping the gun slightly. The jumpiness has decreased significantly but it's still not quite right (i.e. as smooth as it was before it was restored to factory settings).

So, graphics drivers updated (now reads as Plug and Play Monitor on Radeon X1300/X1550 Series, version 6.14.0010.6925 - sound OK to anyone who knows anything about graphics drivers?), but the game's still not running as it was.

Anything else I could try?

maybe a file got corrupted when you were installing so try reinstalling

I'll give it a try!

I've tried reinstalling the game and it's got worse!

I'd like to think the Moderator and Technical Support on the sigames website would help but, after giving me some advice about updating drivers etc., they seem to be ignoring me now.

Thanks for trying to help me out

how is it worse now? I could play 3d with everything maxed out for it but the quality jst makes me cringe so i use 2d. i find it better until they actually make a decent 3d engine

It's worse, now that I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, than it was after I initially updated the graphics driver. I'm sure I could go back to 2D and I'd get used to it again if I had to, but it's frustrating and confusing that the 3D game doesn't work as well as it used to.

Could be heat related, maybe your laptop isn't as cool as it was before. Dust + Stupidly warm weather = Sad processor. :'(
