I started a game with ajax. My aim is to try and make them a force in the champions league again. Trying to buy players young and keep them for as long as possible until the large poacher teams come in and buy them (Man Utd, Chelsea, Juventus always seem to want to sign my players.)

First season was a success in terms of the league but very poor in the Dutch Cup and Euro Cup. I was put out of the Dutch cup with a frustrating 2-1 loss to Feyenoord in the 3rd round. I failed to get out of my Euro cup group with Galatasaray and Rosenborg beating me to the top 2 places. My results in europe were:

CSKA (Sofia) 1 - 3 Ajax
Ajax 2 - 3 Rosenborg
Galatasaray 4 - 3 Ajax
Ajax 3 - 0 CSKA (Sofia)
Rosenborg 3 - 0 Ajax
Ajax 2 - 0 Galatasaray

My main focus for the new season was concede less goals and decided to completely reshape the formation. One of the great things about the dutch league is that the players can fill in for various positions. Here are my tactics and team for the current season:

First names on the teamsheet each week are Riquelme, van Nistelrooy and of course Stekelenberg. Kryvtsov and Suarez have also been fantastic. Riquelme is currently injured so Aissati will be filling in at the moment.

Start of 2010/2011 season went well. I lost the super cup 1-0 but then went on to win my first 5 games, scoring 10 and conceding 3. I was undefeated for the first 12 games but then lost 2-1 to Roda JC, who are over performing right now!

My champions league ambition is taking a right battering at the moment with even a 3rd place in the group stage looking a struggle. My group is Man Utd, Villareal and FC Sochaux. I lost 2-0 to Villareal, drew 1-1 with Man Utd and somehow got demolished 5-2 by FC Sochaux.

So I now have 3 games to turn it all around! I will upload player screens later on.

very good mate never seen an ajax story before could u tell me wht kind o transfer budgets u have had
 
I found that playing a sweeper seems to be working wonders for me defensively. His player instruction is a Libero as well, so he will run through the middle if the path is clear and hopefully spray off passes wide or through the middle to Riquelme. De Zeeuw is set as a ball winning midfielder. Wingers are set as Inside Forwards. Have tweaked some of the settings a little but for the main part used the games default player instructions.
 
budget at the start for aim of winning the league is set at 5.25m I think. This season I got 12mil though, my board signed a private TV deal! Bonus!

I offloaded a lot of players...some of my transfers didn't please the fans at all. I sold Lindgren to PSV lol.

Ruud has 7 goals in 11 games overall.
Before he got injured Riquelme banged in 5 in 7 games.

Suarez was at Ajax from the start mate. I've not got any money at the moment. Wouldn't mind getting an old cheap DC as my defence is pretty young, would be good to get a wise old man in the back. No Davey Weir though...not wanting an antique.
 
Some cracking young defenders there Marko! You had them in other games or do Ajax just have quality scouts? That Jorgensen is a good player, he went to Manchester Utd in my game!

Did you have a wee look at the Middlesbrough squad i've assembled? Young English squad and brought my wage bill right down!

Im thinkin of starting one with a Russian team, something different and a fresh challenge!

Ajax's back room staff is a shambles!!! i had to get rid of most of them and sign new coaches. They had about 12 youth coaches! n they were all pants.

I signed Oliver Bierhoff as a scout. 20 for judging ability and potential. I seen Forren on a game before, think it was my Scotland career. The others were just lucky finds I suppose, sure I seen Kryvstov on a wonderkid list somewhere. They might still not develop into anything special but there good enough at the moment. Just need their mental stats to keep going up.

It looks like you need to keep your fingers crossed that theres a board takeover to sort out those finances mate. Downward spiral lol. how much did Owen skin you?
 
Suarez is scoring for fun in real life too. 18 goals so far this season. He'll probably be playing somewhere else next season.
