My Ajax Team

yeah mate looking decent! how many times has someone tried to poach downing off you? I hate big teams when they do it to my players! Alex Ferguson is the worst for it, keeps tying to tap up my players with media comments.

the board must be paying back a hefty loan or something? you read about Man Utd's finances at all? Apparently they only break even if they stay in the FA cup and Champions league until the finals. There gonna collapse when Sir Alex retires like!
 
Have you got some outstanding loans or a lot of monthly installments on players? That could be the reason behind the disappearing finances. Also setting extremely ridiculous asking prices on players seems to be keeping other teams away from your players.
 
Champions league group was an epic failure.

I won my away fixture at FC Sochaux 1-0. Then thought things were looking up as 4 points from my last 2 games would see me qualify for the knockout stages. I then lost to Villareal 2-1. With a top 2 finish looking slim, a point against Man Utd at Old Trafford would get me into the Eufa cup. I then got gubbed 5-1, with Rooney scoring 4!!!

I bounced back in style in the league fixtures. With my results looking like this:

Ajax 3 - 0 FC Groningen
Ajax 2 - 0 RBC
Ajax 1 - 0 PSV
ADO Den Haag 0 - 1 Ajax
Ajax 3 - 0 Roda JC (Roda are currently 1st in the league)
Vitesse 1 - 3 Ajax
Ajax 2 - 1 RKC

At this point I was still 1 point behind Roda JC with a game in hand...against Feyenoord. Surprise Surprise not for the first time my team never turned up to the big occasions. I got beat 2-0 away, the fans are furious with the result.

One good piece of news though is who I managed to sign in January. I sold one of my older defenders in Vertonghen to Lyon and sold my young attacking mid Dszudzak to FC Porto, getting 4m each. Then I went out and signed Van Der Vaart for 7.25m from Real Madrid.

I'm in the semi final of the Dutch Cup against Willem II at home. My remaining league games are:

FC Den Bosch (HOME)
sc Heerenveen (AWAY)
Heracles (HOME)
FC Twente (AWAY)
Willem II (HOME)
AZ (AWAY)
Sparta (HOME)
VVV (AWAY)
PSV (AWAY)

Would be great to have the league wrapped up before my two away games at the end of the season. Fingers crossed.

Bad news about the Champions League, but it was a tough group and it's only your first season in charge! Stick at it and im sure you'll get out the group next season! Bounced back with some good results in the league though!

Hopefully it doesn't come down to your last game as away to PSV sounds daunting!

Also, good shout with Van Der Vaart! I had him on loan in my West Ham save and if played as an attacking centre mid, he scores for fun! Give him lots of freedom and make him your free kick taker!

Im about to update my Middlesbrough thread.... Bought Billy Jones from Preston when i started the game for £2.8million and i just accepted an £8.5million bid from Everton! Not gonna replace him either as i have Justin Hoyte who can come in and do just as good a job! I'll look for a young replacement in the summer!

Second season mate! First time in the champions league though. I've had penalties given against me two games in a row!!! Had a goal disallowed in one of the games too.

My team is totally wrecked with injuries and suspensions. Going to be a tough end to the season!
 
Riquelme has damaged cruciate ligaments, been out since Christmas. Still not due back for 8 weeks. Plus he's getting on a bit so when he comes back he will be back up for VDV.

Not yet...he has a broken leg. Got 5 weeks of injury left. So neither of them are back until next season.

The african players are away for International Qualifiers, just finished there second game though so should be back for next game.

My midfielder De Zeeuw has requested a transfer what a Richard!
 
He's leaving for Valencia in the summer, says he feels he needs to move on as he sees his future away from Ajax. He's valued at 3.3m, got 6.75m for him. Cant complain too much i suppose. He hit a lot of wild Amoruso style shots anyway. Dunno if i'm going to try and get a star midfielder in or play my reserve for now and invest in a younger one.

How much will Adu cost me?
 
3rd season quality frees like Klose are available. I reccommend Hedwiges Maduro he was a former Ajax player and is usually transfer listed
 
I offered £7million and it got accepted right away.... Giving him £25k per week! He said he wasn't interested in a move to the riverside but came when i offered his wage! Here's his stats....
 
thanks mate, ill have a look at expiring contracts. Klose would be a great addition as Pantellic's contract is expiring. So is van Nistelrooys...haven't decided whether to offer him a new contract yet as he has only scored 10 goals in 21 appearances and he is asking for 24k per week.

he looks decent like. Left footed on the right wing though?...have you asked him to start cutting inside? or do you keep him out wide?
 
I tell him to stay out wide! I play him though the centre when Whilshire isn't able to play and although it's his favoured position, he doesn't perform as good as he does on the right!

time for an update:

The end of the 2010/2011 season went well. I won the Dutch cup with a convincing 3-0 win over RBC in the final. With goals from Suarez, Mohammed and Annan.

The league went down to the final day, as I had very poor results in the last 5 games. On the last day of the season I needed Roda JC to lose at home and I needed to win away to PSV.

It took until the 80th minute for me to go 1-0 up against PSV. However, Roda were drawing 0-0. Keeping an eye on there score more than my own, they were still tied at 0-0 on the 90th minute. Until in the 2nd minute of stoppage time they conceded to hand me the league for the second time in a row.

My winter signing of Van Der Vaart was inspirational with him managing 15 appearances, scoring 6 and also 6 assists. 3 MOM awards went to him as well. Pretty much a great signing for 7.25 million.

During the close season I made a few changes to the team, bulking up with some back up players incase of injuries and also trying to strengthen for the future. I was given a budget of 27m!

On to the first half of the season, I'm now in November.

Top of the league by 3 points with a game in hand also. Furthest ahead i've been by this point of the season. Player 12, Won 9, Drawn 2, Lost 1.

I am second in my Champions league group, which contains AC Milan, FC Porto and AS Monaco. Results so far being 1-0 at home against AS Monaco. 1-1 Draw away with AC Milan.1-1 Draw at home against FC Porto. 5-1 gubbing from FC Porto away. Two games left, AS Monaco away and maybe the crunch game is AC Milan at home!

I have Darijo Srna joining me on a free transfer in January and I have also just had a 12m bid for Guilherme accepted.
 
Goin good Marko.... Much more convincing start to the season than last year! Hopefully you can go all the way again and more importantly, progress from the Champions League group stage which is your overall aim! Very tough group though mate... All capable of beating one another!

Hows Deco settled in? And is Jaun Roman back fit to give him a run for his money in the starting 11?
 
Riquelme is back in the starting 11, Deco is on the bench. He has been fairly poor and hasn't really challenged for a first team place.

Finished the group in 3rd. I was right the AC Milan game was crunch time and they beat me 1-0.

So dropped down into Europa League, I have Dortmund then either Lazio or Bordeaux.

I've scored 18 in the last 5 league games. Destroying everybody now which is good news. Hows things going with Middlesbrough?

He is going to be class! U goin to introduce him to the first team, or let him go on loan? Either way, i can't see u keepin him for long before one of the big European clubs come in!

Fancy your chances in the Europa League? With a squad like you've got it's definately possible!

Middlesbrough is going alright, still inconsistant which is frustrating! I mange to draw with the top four or beat them, then i go and get gubbed at home to the likes of Spurs, Burnley etc! Think i've maybe takin them as far as they can go with my restrictions! ie Signing only young English players! Having a salary cap of 40k per week! Accepting bids for players who have doubled in value! Been a good challenge though and one i've definately done well in! So may step down at the end of the season but we'll wait and c!
