My best tactic for FM14

I won the title with Southampton in my first season so thanks for this tactic.

On another note I don't think I've got so little enjoyment out of an FM (played since CM days), even though I won the title. It's the same nearly every game: Destroy opposition, hit the bar, miss chance after chance and scrape a win 2-1 or it finishes 1-1, that is of course if I manage to score from a corner or free kick, but then the opposition usually do as well and it doesn't make much difference that I have training on def set pieces. It's just become absolutely tedious.

Okay, rant over, and again, thanks for the tactic.

Just wanted to say that I used this tactic in an FMC save, using Instant Results, with Chippenham in the Skrill South (beginning year 2014, doing a Dafuge-y thing), projected to finish 20th/22, and won the league 6 points clear. 21-14-7 record, 77 points on the season. Will post screenshots tonight but this tactic is amazing!

What I'm most impressed with is how well it performs against stronger teams. I stole so many 1-0 wins and 1-1 draws where possession was in other teams favor and they were the stronger team. Talent wise my squad was probably about mid-level, no one great as I used my tiny budget to sign a bunch of players into "Backup" contracts (took control of a squad with 14 players, including youth squad, so it was kind of necessary) who had high potential but low current ability.

Anyways, I can say that of all the tactics I've used in 14.2, this is by far the best, and I will continue to use!

Did you use any match plans while doing the instant result on FMC?

No - from my understanding of the Instant Result logic, if you don't use a match plan the ***. Man will stick with your current tactic/instruction setup for the whole game, and sure enough at the end of the season it said I had used that formation for 99% of my minutes, for some reason it had the 4-4-2 listed for something like 70 minutes, so no idea what happened there, maybe they switch to a 4-4-1 if you get a red card in the instant result and the game logs it as a 4-4-2.

Fantastic, thats what I was hoping you would say, tried watching the games but theres so many glitches and shocking GK errors im on the verge of putting my fist through my laptop! Gonna give this tactic a go but on normal FM but using instant result, thanks for your help

Hey guys, this is my first post here, literally made an account just to say how good this tactic is. Playing as West Ham, first season finished 3rd in the league, second season won the league AND the Champions League at first knockings, insane.

My squad in the third season is:
GK: Alex McCarthy/ Sergio Asenjo (Loan)
LB: Shaw/ Marcos Alonso
RB: Nathaniel Clyne/ Kieran Trippier
CB: Eder Alvarez Balanta/ Winston Reid/ James Tomkins/ Stefan Strandberg
CDM: Jack Rodwell/ Anthony Annan
CM: Keisuke Honda/ James McCarthy/ Mark Noble/ Jack Collison
LM: Tom Ince/ Stewart Downing
RM: Marko Marin/ Rodrigo Gomez
ST: Stevan Jovetic/ John Guidetti

I do have one issue, which is that I can't seem to get Jovetic to perform, he has average ratings of ~6.9, and doesn't score very often, despite his attributes seeming perfect for this tactic, and as a False 9. On the other hand, John Guidetti doesn't really seem suited to a False 9, as his passing, creativity etc. are much lower (as well as most other stats), but scores far more and even has more assists. Are there any changes I could make to get more out of Jovetic, who should by all accounts be my star player. Other than that, amazing tactic, great job!

Halfway down the first post, defending set pieces

I am a bit confused... you mentioned OP:

Team Training -

Balanced low this will allow the players to develop more from individual training, becoming more efficient in their role, whilst gaining relative growth in other area's to be as well rounded as possible.

Match preparation

Defensive positioning 30%

So def set pieces or def. pos??

THX!

Congratulate!

What was the match prep during the season?

THX!

Hey Koko4;2012019,

Look at jovetic ppm he might not be suitable as a false nine, even though his stats are fantastic

This tactic looks to be a beast for Skrill Premier teams,i took over Luton in november and have won 7 straight. Will post an update later on tonight.

The defensive positioning of this tactic is amazing - I haven't played it with top-level teams, but I'm in a Skrill North season right now and it seems like 9/10 times the opponent tries a direct pass from the back line (pretty common in lower leagues) it's intercepted.

Did a season in FMC using instant result, won league with Chippenham, now playing for real as Blyth and am 7-2-1 in my first 10 tied for top of the league, tactic familiarity still isn't at 100%, but my team is playing great.

cheers mate. had tried all 3 mids but conceded all the time.
brill tactic mate in 6th season (2nd in prem) with Mansfield and fighting for euro place with 5 games to go

I take off the left winger, the wingback with attack duty on that side still offers width and doesnt sacrafice the protection of the anchor man

I've always taken the anchor man off, will try your way though if needed
