My best tactic for FM14

How is your squad? Alot of the same players you had from the start? I started with Braintree in Skrill League and, as you did, had two promotions in a row, to League One.. But then I had many players from Skrill League and I almost got relegated because of it.. Used three seasons to change the entire squad before I reaced Championsship. So, even if the tactic is amazing, you also need players that belong to that league.

Did you use attack mentality throughout or switch to standard or counter? I assume your squad must be weak compared to the rest so did you bring any other changes?

This tactic stopped working for me sometime back but I really would like this to work as this was the most stable and yes..laziest plug and play tactic around.

And how is your progress now? If it's no trouble can you post screenshots of league standings? Thank you

Exactly the same thing happened to me, stopped working so I switched to Jassar's tactics but they've stopped working now too. Switched back to this because it's been my favourite so far in fm14 but I'm still struggling and I've been in the Championship for about 3 seasons so my team is much more balanced all around. (Gateshead)

As rahtehin asked, did you leave it as attacking mentality or did you go with Counter as your squad is probably the weakest in the division? Also, what does your squad look like? I'm curious how far off mine is value and performance wise to yours.

NEVER played counter.. Attack, attack and attack! But you have to be smart, like, if u are ahead against another top 6 team in the range of 60-70 min, why do you want to attack then? You dont need another goal when you are ahead there, thats when the opponent change it to "All in Attack".. Then I use to change my style to Control upon 80min mark, then Contain..


HAHA, I have made the "Richest club in the world"-list for the first time... proud :p a nice 70th place.

Attack is the best form of defence, I hate time wasting etcc

Could you do me a favour and screenshot your team, just out of interest?

So you've not changed anything else in the tactic you just let it run on it's own and did control and counter as you said? Curious how it works for some and not for others, I assume my team is just weaker than yours atm I guess.
 
First of all thanks for sharing a great tactic!

I'm in my third season of using this tactic in a save now (4th season of save overall). FIrst two seasons went really well. But this season I'm doing worse despite having far better players. Do we have to change tactics every couple of seasons in FM14, or are other people finding they work long term? I hope I don't have to change.
If so can anyone recommend a good tactic to alternate with this one, as this is the only one I have been able to make work.

I think my main problem is away from home. I know this must get asked a lot, but can anyone recommend a good away tactic to go with this?

Hardest part with this tactic is to find a forward that works as a False 9.. tried many with good stats for it, but who doesnt work at all.
 
Hey,
I haven't been playing much but I dropped opposition instructions, changed to attacking movement as match preperation and also added the holds position shout to the false 9 for me this worked much better, it might not work for every team though.
