Hello peoples, I am managing Arsenal at the moment, in my first season, and seem to be doing okay. Okay, meaning that I am currently first, on 58 points, only ahead of Manchester United by 3 points and with a game in hand.
Now, in the July/ August transfer window at the start I bought Gerard Pique for a mere £29 million and Gareth Bale for £13 million (irrelevant but I thought this was peanuts for him). But even with Squillaci and Pique I conceed the most goals in the top 10 places of the league. You must now think, hmmmm maybe it's Almunia or Fabianski at fault, no, as Fabianski's rating has been above 7.5 for every game of the season.

So, what I am asking is for you guys to advise me on some possible very good quality central defenders for the January transfer window. I don't want cheap as cheaps lower league players or potential stars. And, just so everybody knows, I had a £40 million bid for Vidic rejected, so he's off the table completely.

Thanks in advance.

Otamendi, Galeano and Phil Jones they eventually become the best CB´S in the game..

I think you need to get the tactics right as well.
It's all good and well having the best CB's in the game, but it's going to mean nothing if you let them go forward and make runs with the ball.

Ranocchia will be good below 20M i think..in match preparation u can focus on defending movement or set pieces if u concede a lot from set pieces...why dun pair up vermaelen with pique ??

I would say it's your tactics because with those class players you should be playing amazing. But even though Fabianski is getting good ratings doesn't mean he's not conceding so a better GK would be a priority.

Otherwise get someone like Terry if you have 40 mil to spend. But Adil Rami can be snapped up for much cheaper and can perform well.
