At the Start
After being top flight clubs in previouse saves like Manchester city, Aston Villa and so on i decided to manage the one and only AFC Wimbledon.Predicted 11th in the league by the media i was determined to get the leagues Over Achievers so when the board asked me where i will finish out of Mid table finish, promotion or league winners i chose league winners.
The 2010/11 Season
Transfers
Already a strong squad i thought it could be stronger i brought in 12 players which cost me £115,000:
Alex MacDonald - Burnley - £28,000
Lee Trundle - Neath - £20,000
Matt Thornhill - Nottingham Forrest - £45,000
Richard Smallwood - Middlesbrough - £22,000
Steve Tully - Exeter - £1
Febian Brandy - N/A - Free
Izzy Iriekpen - N/A - Free
Ismaël Fofana - N/A - Free
Gavin Hoyte - Arsenal - Loan
Danzelle St.Louis-Hamilton - Stoke - Loan
Matthew Briggs - Fulham - Loan
Luke Williams - Middlesbrough - Loan
Pre-season
Droylsden 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon 0 - 4 Bristol Rovers
AFC Wimbledon 2 - 2 West Ham
Oxford City 1 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
Corby Town 2 - 5 AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon 0 - 3 Millwall
Record Breakers
I had won my first 10 Games on the bounce which was an new AFC Wimbledon Record but 2 games off burton albions 12 game run. But i had the record for most games without conceding which ended after my first 7 league games not bad. then about 1/4 way through the season i went 11 games then lost i was shocked. FebianBrandy set the new BSP record for the league top scorer with 35 goals the previous record stood for 19 years.
The FA Cup
First match was the FA Cup 4th Round Qualifier against non-league Maldon & Tiptree at Wallace Binder Ground (away)
Maldon & Tiptree 0 - 6 AFC Wimbledon
after an easy 4th round qualifier came the 1st round thinking the worst i thought i would get a League 1 team but to my luck i drew Blue Square North team gainsborough but away for the 2nd time in the FA Cup
Gainsborough 0 - 0 AFC Wimbledon
after a dissapointing match we drew 0 - 0 the came the draw for the FA Cup 2nd Round
AFC Wimbledon or Gainsborough will play League 1 side Sheffield Wednesday
but first i had to see of Gainsborough in the replay
AFC Wimbledon 3 - 0 Gainsborough
Now came my biggest Challenge yet Sheffield Wednesday but at least i was at home i went into the match feeling very confident to cause an upset as we were on top form and had a strong good tactic...
AFC Wimbledon 3 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday
Febian Brandy (1, 42, 45+1)
Paul Heffernan (36)
I was extatic 3-1 and it could of easily of been 5 or even 6 - 1 with the chances we created
Then the draw for the FA Cup 3rd round AFC Wimbledon V Barnsley again was looking forward to this match as i felt confident but unfortunately reality hit home when we met....
AFC Wimbledon 1 - 2 Barnsley
and that was the end of AFC Wimbledons cup run for another year.
The Double in my first season. now the new challenge of League 2 and the league Cup.
