My game crashes when i load it in Steam, PLEASE HELP

I just bought FM14 after having a problems with FM13

When i click play in Steam to load FM14 it says "Installing first time setup...... Installing Microsoft DirectX"

Furthermore it then comes up with an error message saying "Application error: A serious error was encountered and the application will now close.Anerror file was generated in Sports Interactive/Football Manger 2014/Crash Dumps/FM 2014 V14.2.0.451266 (2013.12.23.22.33.18)

This happened to me on FM13 but didnt say the error message after.

Before that i have had nothing wrong with using FM on Steam.

I have tried Verifying the game cache and reinstalling it.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

make sure you are running it as admin and untick compatibility mode, also is your computer fully up to date?

I will try this the now! How do i untick compatability mode? And yes i thinkso

right click on the games exe, click properties, then go to the compatibility tab and it's self explanatory from there.

Dont know how to untick the compatibility mode but i tried it and it didnt work

Where is the games exe? I right click the game in Steam and go to properties but there is no compatibility tab?

it will be in the games installation directory.
