Hi guys, only just joined this forum as I was looking for some new skins and somewhere to share players etc. Thought i'd give a little introduction first so im Jake, 20 years old from south wales. Currently in University so spend far too much time on football manager :D

The save im currently ADDICTED to is my Leeds game, i'm in 2015/16 now so will give a quick update on seasons gone by and bring you up to date with my game.

Knew this season wasn't going to be to difficult so focused on loan signings as I didnt want to waste money on players that were going to struggle in the Championship. Dominated the league with ease.

A fantastic season which resulted in an unexpected promotion. Smolarek and Beckford provided the goals once again and the signings of Geremi and Gunarsson were excellent whilst the other free transfers and loanees also proved to be very good.

Now the real struggle began...

I knew to survive in the premiership I was going to need a massive squad overhaul and fair play the board gave me a decent budget, around £20m I think it was and wanted me to avoid relegation, which I done by the skin of my teeth with a 3-1 victory at Anfield on the last game of the season. It was probably the most excited I have ever been when playing FM, and all my housemates got involved and were cheering along too ! Player of the season was undoubtebly Jo, he scored 20 premier league goals for me. Kirkland and Blasi were also great signings, and bringing in D'allesandro in January provided me with just the creativity I needed.

Next few seasons were pretty uneventful but here's how they finished:

Board continued to give me around £30m budget every season which was nice. Best player I signed in these seasons was De Jong, great in centre midfield and helped beefen up my team no end. The next season was when I found the right tactic, as I was conceding far too many goals.

This season led to a suprisingly massive push for the title, and you can see how close it finished between the top 6 or 7 teams and was only decided with 2 games to go. Also managed to make it to the carling cup final where I lost out on pens to Man City, devastating to say the least ! After this season I decided to have a big squad shake up and try have an even better push for the title as now I was fighting on the European front too.

Made some massive transfers and brought in some real english talent. Yeo is a monsterous regen centre back whose earnt 30 England Under 21 caps at the age of 20. Also have some fantastic talent developing in the squad such as Kakuta, Alex and Neymar. Currently just a few games to go in the league and in the FA cup semi final against Arsenal, which I think is a winable game with my current form.

Here's a few final screenshots to catch up with my game so far :

Thanks for reading, hope it hasnt bored you too much. Apologies if it doesnt make sense but it is 1:30 in the morning. If theres any interest I will keep you updated with this season, and how I plan about going into the future. Please critise (constructively :P) if you feel the need to do so :P

Cool, well done! Quite impressed, top of the league. Hope you're not a Cardiff fan ;)

welcome to the site, jake. im pretty impressed with your leeds save as i normally dont go so many years in my saves. i'll definitely follow your story, mate. good luck

Well i'm mainly a Man Utd fan but as its so far away I can't get up there as much as I would like so I also follow Swansea City, as this is where i'm studying in Uni. Going to finish the season off now, very excited ! :D

Spurs (2) v (5) Leeds (Neymar x5)

Fantastic performance from Neymar, went behind within a minute and then he scored a hatrick before half time. Got another 2 just after the break before spurs got a consolation goal in the last minute. A fantastic start to the busy end of season schedule.

Leeds (2) v (0) Arsenal (Neymar x2) FA Cup Semi-Final

Into the final of the FA Cup against West Ham thanks to another individual display from Neymar, he is proving to be a 1 man team ! Closest rivals for the title Villa also slipped up in a league match so now have a 6 point lead with 4 games to play.

Leeds (1) v (1) Sunderland (Neymar)

What should have been a comfortable game turned ugly early on when James Tomkins was sent off within 10 minutes. Took the lead on the counter attack just after the break but Sunderland equalised from a corner wiht just 5 minutes to go. Was very disappointed until I seen Villa had slipped up and drew again, maintained a 6 point lead with just 3 games to go. Up next, United away.

Man Utd (3) v (1) Leeds (Neymar)

Despite Neymar getting an early goal, the lads didnt show up today and didnt deserve anything from this game. BUT, Aston Villa are on a massive slump and went down to a battling Southampton 1-0. 1 point needed from my next 2 games, Chelsea at home and Everton away. 2 tricky fixtures but hopefully I can secure the league at Elland Road to finally give the Leeds faithful something to cheer about. I think the reason for the poor form from both of us is the congested period where we are playing 2 games every week, and its really taking its toll on the squad as I dont have a big squad at the best of times.

Leeds (1) v (3) Chelsea (Neymar)

Now im starting to get worried.....

Rodwell earnt himself a red card in the opening 20 minutes, which resulted in a Lampard penalty being converted then Sandro goes and gets himself sent off just after half time to give me no chance of a comeback. Got a consolation goal in the last minute.

Aston Villa drew once again against Spurs, so I have been crowned champions with 1 game to go. I was tipped at 100/1 at the start of the season and predicted 8th, so the board are obviously delighted with me. However, this collapse is now getting ridiculous, going to have to invest in more depth next season if I am aiming to compete on the Champions League front as well.

Everton (2) v (1) Leeds (Neymar - Who else ?)

Despite the result I am delighted with my team. A very unexpected championship win which will no doubt get the fans talking about whats next ! More goals are needed throughout the squad though as this difficult time of season has been poor, with only Neymar scoring in the last 6 games. Now for the FA Cup Final, West Ham have lost their last 5 games so are going into this final with no sort of form so hopefully I can take this one and do the double.

West Ham (0) v (2) Leeds (De Jong, Neymar) FA Cup Final

Brought De Jong back into the squad to replace Rodwell with a bit more experience and he scored within 25 minutes. Neymar wrapped the game up just after the hour mark with a delightful 25 yard strike. So proud of the lads to have gone and done the double.

Will update you with transfers and aims for the next season later on today probably. Thanks for reading and again, any tips for an improved story would be appreciated. Heres a screenshot of Neymar's final season stats.

the best read i have ever read on fm base well done mate now go bring champions league glory good luck buddy

Thanks for the comments, any feedback is welcome :) Well I completed my summer signings and am pretty pleased with who I have brought in. My main focus was on young english players as I needed to meet the Champions League and Premier League quota in terms of home-grown players. Here's the overall list of players in and out of the club, and then a look at the players attributes. As you can see most of the budget was spent on the attacking midfielder Pacheco but he looks like he could add some creativity that I previously havent had from the centre midfielders. Also, decided to let McGeady and De Jong go as their contracts were up at the end of the season and they were getting on a bit now, so thought I would get some money for them whilst I could.

Leeds (3) v (1) Villa (Jo, Neymar x 2) -Community Shield

Started off the campaign with some more silverware as I dominated Villa and perhaps the margin could have been more. They nabbed a consolation goal in the final minutes but great performance from the lads today and good to see Neymar has continued his scoring form into the new season, after I rejected some big money bids for him.

Leeds (2) v (1) Bolton (Neymar, Pacheco)

Having John Browne my right midfielder sent off within just 20 minutes, I had to adapt and play a 4-4-1 with Neymar playing up front on his own. He seemed to revel in this role as he scored just 6 minutes later giving me the lead. I struggled from here and Bolton got a goal with an hour played. With just 15 minutes to go I brough Pacheco on for his premier league debut and he repaid me with a great goal from 25 yards to wrap up the first 3 points of the season. A well-earned tough 3 points.

Plymouth (0) - (1) Leeds (Sandro)

In what proved to be a suprisingly difficult game, Sandro scored a magnificient solo effort with 70 minutes gone to finally break down the tough Plymouth defense. They set up to hold for the draw and looked like doing so until some magic from Sandro where he skinned 2 players, drove into the box and cooly slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Not a great start to the season in terms of performances but the results are coming, and as is so often said these days thats how you win championship's, by winning the games when your not playing well.

Looking forward to the Champions League draw and taking my Leeds team to some of the European elite.

Champions League Group : Porto, Marseille and AIK. Should be able to make it though although Marseille and Porto are both decent teams and could prove a problem.

Leeds (3) v (1) Chelsea (Neymar, Tomkins, Jo)

Great performance against a strong team and title contender. Nice to see some goals coming from other areas of the team as well as Neymar, although he still has a record of a goal a game. Also nice to see Jo getting back into the form he was in before last season, where he struggled a bit.

Sunderland (1) v (4) Leeds (Neymar, Tomkins, Jo, Kakuta)

3 goals came from the same sources as the last game, Tomkins is on a great run of form which seen him get 2nd in the player of the month competition, behind Kakuta. Suprisingly Neymar wasn't in the top 3 this month. As well as the player of the month going to a member of my squad, young winger Alex claimed Young player of the month and I claimed manager of the month after winning the opening 4 games of the season. Goals are starting to flow nicely now also so all is looking bright at Elland Road.

Leeds (3) v (0) Tottenham (Neymar, Jo, Rodwell)

Good defensive display as well as attacking today and i'm delighted to once again see both my strikers on the scoresheet and a great goal from Rodwell wrapped the game up just after the break. Thoroughly enjoying the challenge this season and the lads seem well up for whatever gets thrown at them. Special mention to Kakuta, who I would recommend to any team. He is a joy to behold on the left wing and gets so many assists with 14, 15 and 19 in the last 3 seasons respectively, which shows hes also improving. Only suprise is France haven't called him up but surely they cant ignore him much longer with form like this.

Porto (2) v (0) Leeds

First big european night of the season and I expected massive atmosphere at the Dragao. They injured both my strikers Jo and Neymar within the first 30 minutes and from there on in I struggled to get a foot hold in the game. Scoreline flattered them in the end but they took their chances well. Not too disappointed as I always knew this was going to be the toughest game of the group.I just hope this doesn't affect my league form.

Not the ideal match to go to after a tough night in Europe, luckily the injuries to Jo and Neymar were only light and they return to action for this massive game.

Man Utd (1) v (0) Leeds

Fears come true as the players didnt show up. Will learn from my mistakes and mix the squad up a bit for either the European match or the game after it as they didn't look fresh. Hopefully this loss will have made me a better manager for the future.

Sheffield United (0) v (3) Leeds - (Neymar x 3) Carling Cup 3rd round

Was a tough draw for the 3rd round so didn't want to rest too many players as I want a good cup run in all competitions this year. Gave the young korean striker Jang Yong a full debut and brought in Pacheco for a bit more creativity in midfield and to give the hardworking Sandro a rest. Both played well and Pacheco bagged a couple of assists, looking like a great player and think I will give him a good run of games now to see what he can do maybe dropping Rodwell to the bench for a bit. After 2 games without scoring it was nice to see the ball hit the back of the net 3 times. Nice draw at home against championship side Birmingham for the next round.

Leeds (1) v (1) Everton (Richards)

Struggled to get a hold of the game and only pulled level thanks to a Micah Richards header mid-way through the second half. Had chances to go on and win the game but didnt take them, think a draw was a fair result.

Another update at the end of October/Mid November

Jake

u need to do another update mate thts wyy no one is commenting

Ok thanks for reading :)

Next up was the first home european game at Elland Road for a long time, and it didnt dissapoint !

Leeds (2) v (1) AIK (Rodwell, Jo)

Jack Rodwell continued his richer scoring form this season with the opening goal inside 20 minutesof this must win game if I was to have any chance of qualifying, but soon after AIK equalised. The match seemed to be heading to a disappointing draw until Jo popped up in the dying moments of injury time to the delight of the fans.

Wolves (1) v (2) Leeds (Kakuta x 2)

Kakuta was again in great form as he has been all season and notched 2 goals to get me back on track in terms of premier league wins. This had the potential to be a stumbling block after a European night, but I dominated the match and was unlucky the margin of victory wasn't more. Neymar has now gone 3 games without a goal, probably his longest run for over a year !

West Ham (1) v (2) Leeds (Green O.G. Jo)

Another decent victory away from home which keeps me sitting on the top of the table. Neymars form is dipping slightly although he did get taken off with 30 minutes to go as he was looking tired. Nice to see Jo on the scoresheet again and he's having a really good start to the season, lets hope he can keep it up !!!

Leeds (2) v (2) Marseille (Lukaku, Diego Renan)

After taking a 2-0 lead I was disappointed to see this one slip in the last 10 minutes. Another sign that maybe my squad isnt cut out for the top european competition and battling for the premier league crown. Think some additional transfers are going to be needed in January to add some more depth, maybe some loan signings as I dont have much transfer kitty left.

Bristol City (1) v (3) Leeds (Jo x 2, Kakuta)

Jo once again makes up for the lack of goals from Neymar with another 2, and Kakuta bagged a screamer to secure a tough 3 points away from home. Haven't kept a clean sheet for a long time, and with Neymar off form i'm glad the points are still coming in. Still sitting at the top of the table :)

Leeds (4) v (3) Birmingham (Sandro x 2, Gerrard O.G. Pacheco) - League Cup 4th Round

Absolutely delighted with the final result. After taking a 3-0 deficit at half time, I ripped into the players and brought some of the rested players on to try sort this shambles out. Sandro instantly stepped up with 2 goals within 6 minutes of the restart andthen Gerrard made a calamitous mistake in goal. Pacheco wrapped up the comeback with a winner in the 76th minute which delighted me as it saved a very unwanted extra time.

Leeds (1) v (3) Aston Villa (Jang Yong)

Absolutely dismal performance from the team and but for a late consolation goal from Jang Yong I would have been left with no pride at all. He saved face a bit but was still a massive blow and it cut into my 6 point lead at the top. On a more dignified note, Agbonlahor and Welbeck were fantastic up top for Villa, destroying me on the counter attack all through the game.

Marseille (3) v (2) Leeds (Browne, Jang Yong)

Another 3 goals conceded and the defense is going to be seeing some changes over the coming games. Think I will put Micah Richards into the centre and bring back Srna to RB as i'm lacking the physical presence Micah could bring. Still in with a shout of qualifying for the knockout phase if I can beat Porto at home and AIK away. I have full faith in my players and believe they can win both these games.

Leeds (3) v (0) Southampton (Neymar x 2, Sandro)

Finally !! 2 birds with one stone. Neymar is back in the goals and I have kept a clean sheet. A solid performance and I am very pleased with the overall display. Could and perhaps should have been more. Season back on track.

Swansea (0) v (2) Leeds (Picton O.G. Richards)

Down to 10 men on the 20 minute mark after a Tomkins red card, thought this game was going to be a losing battle. However, Neymar led the line suerbly on his own and the O.G. should have gone to him. Richards added a 2nd after 75 minutes to settle the location the 3 points were travelling. A much deserved 3 points and another clean sheet.

Leeds (2) v (0) Newcastle (Alex, Jang Yong)

3 clean sheets in a row has really boosted morale and with a dominant performance and another goal for young Jang Yong I am finishing tonights session on a very positive note.

Looking forward to the 2nd half of November then moving through December into the January transfer window, where no doubt many of my in form players will be targetted. Hopefully I can keep hold of all my players as they are performing well at the moment, and maybe draft in a few extra players for cover in the tricky period that comes around in the 2nd half of the season.

Aims for the next month are :
1) To secure qualification from the group with 2 victories in the champions league,
2) Maintain the current run of form in the league to stay top of the table until January
3) Beat Stoke in the 1/4 final and hopefully win the semi final of the League Cup, giving me a chance to secure my first piece of silverware of the season in February.

Thanks for reading,

Goodnight

Later this evening, no work for me now :) Glad to see people are readin

Back to business....

Leeds (4) v (3) Porto (Neymar x2, Tomkins, Jo)

In what was a massive game for me, I secured the win in the dying moments of the game which I thought left me in with a chance of qualifying if I beat AIK. However, upon checking the table after the game the other result went against me and even with a win on the last game I could'nt qualify as my head to head with the other teams wasn't good enough. Massive blow as I was hoping to have a good crack at the competition this season.

Arsenal (1) v (1) Leeds (Sandro)

A good result away from home at Arsenal, who are still one of the stronger teams in the league. Think I probably deserved to walk away with more than the draw, but im not going to complain it could have been worse. Another great goal from Sandro, struck from 30 yards.

Leeds (1) v (1) Stoke (Lukaku) - League Cup 4th Round -
Leeds win on penalties 4-2

Rested a lot of players for this game so was pleased to just get through after Stoke cancelled out Lukaku's opener with a 82nd minute strike.

AIK (0) V (2) Leeds (Sandro, Tomkins)

These 2 are developing into quite the goalscorers this season, with 6 and 4 respectively by the start of December. Despite winning the game and finishing the group on 10 points, I didn't qualify which I found very unlucky as 10 points is usually enough to see teams safely through.

Leeds (2) v (0) Man City (Jo x2) Pazzini S/O 19mins

Thought i'd start to jazz up the colour scheme of the story to try make it easier on the eyes. Pazzini getting sent off in the 19th minute meant this game was a lot easier than I was expecting. Kept possesion well and frustrated the Man City team. Jo bagged another 2 goals to take his tally to 11 for the season.

Liverpool (3) v (3) Leeds (Richards, Neymar, Jo)

Micah Richards scored his 3rd goal of the season in the 5th minute withna headed goal from a corner to give Leeds a great start to the game. Neymar added a 2nd goal for Leeds on the half hour mark and it looked like it might get embarissing for Liverpool from here, especially when Jo added a 3rd oonly 2 minutes later. However, Biglia pulled one back for the home side just before the break to give them hope and then a total lapse of concentration led to Cohen scoring a 2nd meaning we were going in to half time at 2-3. The second half was a scrappy affair with no team wanting to concede the next goal, until disaster. Torres scored a equaliser in the 76th minute which means my team threw away a 3-0 lead. Not best pleased about this result !!

Leeds draw Shakthar in 1st round of the Euro Cup. The first leg will be played at Elland Road and the winners will progress to play Anderlecht or Genoa.

Leeds (1) v (2) Burnley (Tomkins)

Tomkins gave me the lead with a 3rd minute header but this was the only time of the match I was happy. Just 3 minutes later Burnley equalised and then scored again soon after. I pressed and fired shots on their goal but they stood firm, beating me with just 2 shots on target. On football manager I believe there are games which you are supposed to win, and games which just aren't meant to be, this game falls into the latter category.

Bolton (0) v (2) Leeds (Jo, Neymar)

Much better performance from the team, solid right through the defense and midfield, and up top both the strikers got a goal. Glad I could pick back up the form so quick. Only negative was that Sandro got taken off injured, will have to check the damage after the game.

Sandro out for up to 6 weeks

Crucial blow for the squad as a star player is ruled out for the busy christmas period. Might have to get a loan signing in as soon as the window opens in a week to support the midfield more as I only have 4 centre midfielders in total.

Fulham (1) v (2) Leeds (Jo, Alex) - FA Cup 3rd Round

Not a great performance but just glad to get through the rounds in the early stages. A rare goal for Alex, hoping this can be the start of a better goalscoring run for him.

Leeds draw Rochdale at Elland Road in the FA Cup 4th round
A nice draw and gives me a chance to rest some players against the league 1 opposition which can then keep my players fresher for the league.
Leeds sign Seydou Keita on Free Transfer
Today Leeds announced that they have signed the veteran defensive midfielder as some backup for the coming few months as they look to give some more options in centre midfield.

Chelsea (4) v (1) (Kakuta) League Cup Semi Final Leg 1

Dismal display as a 1-0 lead gets obliterated with 25 minutes to go as Chelsea score 4 goals. Humiliating defeat and I will not tolerate performances like this in the future.

Leeds (3) v (0) Sunderland (Neymar x2, Rodwell)

The players "manned up" well today after their blow of getting destroyed mid-week against Chelsea. They put that behind them and I am very proud that they could perform like this with such low morale. Need Neymar to reiginte the fire he had last season and this is a good start.

Leeds (1) v (1) Man Utd (Alex)

Again I let a lead slip late in the game as a goalkeeping error from Pouplin allows Man United to earn an undeserved point. Young winger Alex got another goal which pleases me.

Here's a look at the table with 24 fixtures having been played, but I have 3 games in hand and can see myself struggling with the heavy schedule over the coming months. I dont think anymore activity in the transfer window will be done except maybe another loanee or 2 coming in.

looking forward to the next update can u post me a screenshot of yannis tafer
thanks oh aand also bruno zuculini

how far in were u when neymar got good he seems to be absolutely amazing the lad scores tonnes for u

ive had him a couple of times but he starts off young and pretty useless and i dont tend to last as long as u have

Some great results there, What Tactic are you using?

Just using a standard 4-4-2. Its about the player and team instrucitons more than the actual positioning of players I find. Will post the screenshots later when i'm back on the game.

To Mickofboro, I bought Neymar in my 4th season I think it was, but the first season he wasnt in the first team. 2nd season for me and 5th season of the game he became first team and started to become a good player, then become absolutely fantastic in the 3rd season scoring a goal a game in 57 appearances, mental !

Thanks all for reading and showing interest :) Update later this evening probably, even if it is only small.
