19th August 2012
West Ham 1-0 Manchester United

We began at home to the mighty manchester united, i decided to hand debut's to Nedum Onouha, Jakub Blasczykowski, Antonio Lopez, Royston Drenthe and Nikica Jelovic. We started well and stood up to manchester united quite well and at the break i thought we were unlucky not to be ahead. Jelovic then opened his account with a 25 yard free kick just after the hour that earned him the man of the match award, although our entire back four were fantastic all the way through the match and it was a perfect start.

25th August 2012
Sunderland 3-0 West Ham

We Made our 1st trip of the season to the north east to face sunderland. Pablo Barrera returned to the starting line up for the 1st time in over a year, I felt the team were hard done by as we didnt play as badly as what the result suggested. We conceaded early from a gylfi Sigurdson free kick and then as we pushed for a equaliser goals from ismael Bangoura and Michal turner left us bitterly dissapointed with the result.

29th August 2012
Nottingham Forest 0-4 West Ham

We began our league cup campaign with a great 4-0 hammering of nottingham forest, there were starts given to Guy Demel, Danny Srinkwater and Yaya Sanogo as our refreshed side ran riot. It took us a quater of a hour to take the lead with Nedum Onouha heading in from a Antonio Lopez corner and that was followed by a Julien Faubert tap in from a excellant Drenthe cross. The tie was put to bed on 70 minutes as James tomkins headed in a third and the rout was complete when Freddie Piquionne placed a fourth to give us a morale boosting victory.

3rd September 2012
West Ham 0-1 Everton

We returned to league action with a home game against everton, I recalled Jelovic, Nolan and Barrera to the starting line up and we looked a good side, After being the better side it was a awful feeling when James Tomkins was adjudged to have bundled over tim cahill and tim composed himself to dispatch the penalty. After looking at replay's it looked like James got the Ball which was confirmed when i didnt recieve any punishment from the f.a after my post match comments.

17th September 2012
Wigan 2-2 West Ham

We travelled to wigan looking to put in a positive performance after the disapointment against Everton, Carlton Cole was restored to the starting line up and winston reid replaced the injured James tomkins as Wigan boasted two former Hammers in David Bentley and Luis Jiminez. Wigan were handed a fantastic start as Mauro Boselli stroked the hosts in front in a wigan dominated first half. After the break we had our best spell of the game which seen Carlton Cole tap in his first goal of the season and 6 minutes later Mark Noble tapped in from 2 yards to put us in front, As we approached the last 10 minutes Wigan through the kitchen sink at us and as it looked like we were going to sneak a win Royston Drenthe was reprimanded for pushing Gary Caldwall in the box and Boselli stepped up to Smash home the penalty and give wigan a point.

22nd September 2012
West Ham 0-1 Stoke

We suffered our 3rd defeat of the season with a poor performance against a good stoke side at upton park, Jakub Blasczykowski returned to the side after injury in our only change. After stoke had alot of the early possesion it was west ham who created the early chances before simon Vukcevic scored a wonderful free kick to give stoke the lead. In the second half we tried to force an opening but we couldnt force our way through as we struggled to gain a grip on the game which has left us with 4 points from our opening 5 league games. And next up was the 3rd round of the league cup with a home tie against chelsea.

25th September 2012
West Ham 2-3 Chelsea

View attachment 225275

The fourth round of the league cup gave us a london derby, in front of the camara's, we gave the likes of guy demal, jelovic and carlton cole a start against a full strength chelsea side. After both sides had a solid start chelsea struck first when fernando torres beat the offside trap a placed the ball past rob green, That was until just after the break when winston reid headered us level with our first oppertunity on goal. 3 minutes later torres had a shot saved by green that rocketed off guy demel and into the net to put chelsea back in front, but again we rallied and carlton cole vollyed us level with 20 minutes remaining. The tie turned on its head when reid was sent off for a 2nd bookable offence and chelsea took advantage of that as a frank lampard penalty gave them the win to progress to the next round.

29th September 2012
Wolves 1-1 West Ham

View attachment 225279

Our trip to wolves was going to be tough as they were on a good run, with tomkins and reid out guy demel stepped in at centre half with starts for freddie piquionne and jakub Blasczykowski. we were first out of the blocks as wolves struggled to get there passing going, and we got our reward after a excellent pass from carlton cole free'd piquionne who hit the net through the post. As wolves settled they began to look dangerous and they got there reward when Roger Johnson headed in a equaliser just before the break, And that's how it stopped as both sides struggled in the 2nd half.

6th October 2012
West ham 4-0 West Brom

View attachment 225280

We returned to form with a comprehensive 4-0 win against relegation rival's west brom. Tomkins, Barrera and Jelovic returns to the side as they were all key for us, We began well and Nikica Jelovic got his 2nd goal of the season with a good free kick and James tomkins headered in a 2nd. We were rocking and looking dangerous every time we went forward and we got our third when pablo berrera stepped in side and placed the ball past frank fielding for his 1st goal for the club, and the game was over after onouha headed in a fourth.

21st October 2012
Arsenal 3-1 West Ham

View attachment 225288

Our next away day was a super sunday tie at the emirates, where we kept the same line up as the game before. Arsenal began strongly and we kept them at bay, but after 23 minutes the ball was bundled into the net via kevin nolan which was harsh. It was one way traffic and robin van persie and andrey Arshavin added goals to put the game beyond doubt before halftime. After the hairdryer treatment at half time we came out and gave a better account of ourselfs and we got a deserved consilation through Carlton Cole. We sit 15th in the league with 8 points from 8 games.
