My Wigan Adventure

I thought I'd pick Wigan as a challenge and set about changing the side. Signings included Eduardo Salvio, Diego Buonanotte and Gilberto Silva, managed to re-coup that outlay by selling Rachid Bouaouzan,Erik Edman and Jason Koumas amonst others.

Tactics are the classic Mourinho Chelsea style, with 2 wide men causing all the problems and a lone striker, Rodallega, with Buonanotte supporting from centre midfield.

Port Vale (Away) – 0-5 –Meriem, Buonanotte, McManaman, Scharner, King

Resounding victory; could and probably should have scored more.

Stockport v Wigan (Carling Cup)

Easy win marred by Hendry Thomas getting sent off for persistent fouling

Wigan v Sunderland

1-0– Diego Buonanotte

Despite having Lee Cattermole sent off early on, Sunderland held out until late on

Poor defensive performance, good attacking performance, great game for the neutral

Burnley v Wolves

2-2 – Jason Scotland (2)

Second game running of poor defending costing us dearly

Wigan v Tottenham

1-0– Hugo Rodallega (2)

Rodallega proved the difference with a brilliant double early in the first half

Wigan v Doncaster

2-0 – Hendry Thomas, Eduardo Salvio

Tight game, but quality told eventually

Liverpool v Wigan

2-0

Andriy Voronin’s double, with Liverpool’s only 2 shots of the game, won it late on

Buonanotte's value has rocketed over the past 2 months from 2.8mil to 6mil with 1 goal and 6 assists so far
