Mystery Auction Game

I have been thinking about trying to organise a new type of auction game, this first post will hopefully give people an idea of what I want to do with this auction and get some interest. Ill edit the OP as we go instead of making extra posts. Please have a read and reply if you fancy taking part and if you think anything could/should be changed.


General Information –​
1. We will be using the BPL teams for this game and the latest patch to simulate the season.
2. All clubs will have their assets removed (stadiums, youth setup etc) and be given an equal reputation and finance at the start of the game.
3. Each auction round will have 48 hours to give everybody a chance to bid, if all players have placed their bids I will try release the results early and set up the next auction. The first round I will allow additional time incase people havn't realised we have started
4. Bornexplorer will be creating the teams identity for the game from the details you provide.
5. If you don't inform me that you may not be taking part in an auction round or will be taking a break than I will give you 2 warnings. After the second warning you will be removed from the team and replaced by a new player or the computer.

Auction Rules​
1. Each auction will be a Mystery auction, I will not show you exactly who or what you are bidding on however you will get an indication or explanation of what it may be.
2. Each auction may include any of the following
a. Stadiums
b. Players
c. Managers
d. Club Bonuses (youth recruitment / money etc)
3. An example of a possible mystery auction could be:
The Loyalty Pack – This pack will contain items/players/managers that have been loyal to a club for the majority of their career. EG. Steven Gerrard / David Moyes / Lionel Messi
4. At the end of the auction I will allow a dedicated round to player swaps (if you have 2 stadiums, swap/sell to other players that have not won any)
5. Each auction round I will put 5 packs on to bid for however you can only bid for 2 during each round.
6. There will be a total of 15 rounds for the auctions consisting of auction rounds, swap rounds, sale and purchase rounds however I may change the layout or add extra rounds ... this is a mystery game after all :D
7. £200 million will be allocated to each team at the start of the auction however the finance can change for each club over the rounds (maybe positive but could potentially have a negative effect.)

As stated I will edit this post once we get some players signed up and sort the game asap. Please bare in mind it maybe slightly difficult to set-up initially but hopefully have it done asap :)

Would like to thank Bornexplorer and StokieScott for helping with the game. Born is developing kits/logos and signatures for each team while Scott will be helping with the trading rounds!

Point Deduction will apply if any any club does the following;
At the end of the auction if your club does not have a stadium it will be receive a -15 point penalty and given a 5k seater stadium.

If your club goes over-budget you will receive a -15 point penalty and will have to sell players (to me for in-game value) or auction them for other players to sign. You will not be able to bid un till you have sorted your balance.

Always wanted to do a Fifa Ultimate team style auction game but have no time. Everyone will start with a couple of starter packs, then there will be silver, gold and platinum packs. Every other round will be chairmans, clubs, etc

Also like the idea of having upgrades in packs e.g. +10 current ability and possibly team of the week players something like that!
 
Would be interested mate :D Quick question will all clubs have their players removed aswell?

ye thats my idea, that you are bidding on packs and they progress up from basic cheap packs to packs that have guaranteed world class players but you don't know which one, means player trading will be more hectic ;)
 
Seems a good idea, only issue is a 24 hour bidding period? I see 48 more reasonable
 
aye maybe ... if people would prefer 48 hours / if all bids have been sent will conduct the auction earlier rule im happy to do that instead :)
 
I would like to take part mate , have been ever present in all of the Chairman Games as well as Potta's Auction game as well
 
I'll join, 48 hours is much more reasonable, sometimes things come up so you never know.

Btw, may want to put down team budget and how many rounds you plan on doing in the OP, if you've not yet decided ignore me :)

ye sorting out the number of rounds atm. Looking at 10 rounds with a few random ones in the end if people are short on players. Unsure yet. Budget again, not decided ... will have a think today while im sorting my house out.

No worries, figured you just hadn't got around to it. 10 rounds sounds pretty good along with unsold players/randoms at the end.
