Need a Carrick type player for Stoke?

I'm in my third season with Stoke with a budget of £12 million and wage of £80k. I need a Carrick type player. I need someone who play the grafter and win the ball from the opposition but they also need to be a decent passer of the ball similar to Carrick. I was thinking Romulo or Joe Allen. What do you guys think?

Dare I say Michale Carrick....i reckon after 2 seasons ylu might be able to get him for that.....if that's a no go, try either of the bender brothers (lars or Sven)...i prefer sven but lars is a better passer

Kara is quality
Verratti can play as a deep lying player
