Need help! Need to refine my tactic!

Hello Everyone

I am a silent observer of this forum. I usually download the plug-in tactics and modify it to my squad requirements.
But for FM18 mostly all plug-in tactics use 3 strikers and 3 defenders..of which I am not quite a fan of it. Hence decided to make my own tactics. I Love Enganche and RPM (Roaming Play Maker) positions. I would want to build a tactic which is defensively strong and also reasonably strong in attack.

The results have been very satisfying but its kinda inconsistent. Meaning in few matches we play very attractively and other matches though its entertaining but chances getting converted ratio is very low.

Am I doing anything wrong ? Or do I need to change some Roles and Duties ? I want to play with Enganche and RPM. Suggestions are welcome.

You said that you don't like 3 defenders but sorry thats tha only thing ive changed :/ couse fm17 and fm18 three defenders gives the best solid defense (i think thats what you look for!) but i add your position enghance ant left 2 strikers not 3
well so i made it on chelsea team as you and made a lil test (No transfers) but i can guaranty that its the best what you can squazee from that formation and i can guaranty that it can work with underdogs as well!

that was the starnge beggining of the season, but then the beast woke up!

* ignore that heave loss to Man United couse at the 80th something min i was 1:0 down but after 3 used subs they injured my other 2 players so they smashed me 3:0 the rest is in picture

so if you start a new save i can said that you will win EPL with chelsea easily! I changed alot in both team instructions and player instructions... one thing i left is ball winning position in midfield... couse in my personal opinion i like to have 1 attacking centr. mid and 1 defensive, like fabregas - kante, pogba-matic and so on... if you face bigger opponet on away use standart mentality instead attacking...

Thanks a lot mate. I guess without having 3 at the back we will surely leak goals. Nevertheless I have my two fav positions Kudos to you mate. I will download and check it.

Forget the manu loss...look at that 17-0 win..lol. I cant wait to try it with a lower league club.

I tried using an average team...I chose Leicester. And look at the results.

Even though I use 3 center backs...yet I am kinda leaking goals. I guess there is no way to stop leaking goals completely.

This is my player rating and goal scored and assists stats. Apparently Enganche doesn't play a crucial role in making or creating goals like the comment says. Both strikers create goals for themselves and score for themselves...lol.

I still feel this tactics can be refined even to a greater extent. In my opinion RPM is the game changer. He is a must....but the role of enganche can be tweaked to some other role to be more effective to the tactic.

I find at the back, role familiarity and cohesion really have a massive impact of conceding less goals. Also it seems like a lot more goals come from crossed this year so anticipation, positioning, marking and heading are KEY defensive attributes. Of course others as well but those are emphasized more when dealing with crosses/picking up strikers in the box to defend.

You missed my point entirely...I didnt say sign Rugani, Laporte, and Hummels for Tranmere Rovers. I highlighted the most important attributes that I have noticed. If you are Man City and put in 3 terrible centerbacks but have 100% role familiarity and instructions are perfect you will leak tons of goals.
