Need help to get data editor working

Whenever i try to use the editor a message comes up saying
"Unable to find some essential data. Please ensure the game is installed correctly."
Then another message comes up saying
failed to find a default database to use. Please make sure your installation is not corrupt"
If anyone knows how to solve this problem could you please explain.Cheers

it was when i reinstalled the game that the editor stopped working, i will give it a try though

ive tried reinstalling and still no luck im even getting xml parsing errors now. Any other ideas?
