Hello.

Through the years I have downloaded other tactics to get success (too lazy to make my own tactics). However, I think it got boring to win everything with Burnley in the 1st seasons just because I used amazing tactics made by others.

Now I really wanna make my own successful tactic, but I am not a tactic expert. I think it's difficult, especially this year. I have no idea what roles I should use, what player instructions I should use etc. I try to use player instructions which fits my team. If one of my players have good tackling abilities I usually use the "tackle harder" option on that specific player. However, that resulted in getting a lot of red cards and giving away too many free kicks. If my player has good marking abilities I use the "tighter marking" option, but that results in a lot of penalties.

* How important are player roles, and how do I find out what player roles to use on specific players without making my tactic unbalanced?
* Should I give my players many intructions, or are 2-3 instructions per player enough? What about team instructions? Will my tactic get unbalanced if I use too many instructions?
* Are there any guides on what to look for (abilities) when using specific player/team instruction? For example what to look for if I want my team to play wide, narrow, slow, fast, short passes, long passes etc, high press, less press etc. I can't find any guides...

Sorry for all the stupid questions, and sorry for the English.

You're asking for a helluva lot of information here mate. There are really good guides on the si forums That will answer all your questions.

Roles are probably the most important ththing when creating tactics, they come with pre defined instructions and if you're adding too many individual instructions you have probably picked the wrong roles.

If you add info on how you would like your team to play we can help get you off to a starter and you can take it from there
