need help!

I decided that I would finally get FM, so far it seems exactly as I expected and can't wait to crack on with the game. My only problem is that as I'm not familiar with the game and want to have the best start possible. I've went and picked FC Halifax Town and want help on what sort of formation I should use for this club, what tactics to use and what decent players to get.

Any recommendations are welcome
