Need help!!!!!!!!

Hey this is for 2010 but i thought that people would be more likely to see and therefore help me.
i got an iMac a couple of days ago and decided to load my FM10 onto it so i logged into steam and downloaded it opened it and it says Football Manager 2010 v 10 . 3 . 0 f 104782 quit unexpectedly. So obviously i went online to check a how to fix it and it says i need to use direct x but I'm confused cos my 2012 demo works fine. i have just finished installing it through the disk and opened and the same message came up same apart from the part after the "f". would love some help and i love FM and i haven't been able to play for weeks

yes i was using steam thanks for your offer but i realised that FM2010 doesn't work on my mac cos my mac is too new. I'm gonna have to buy 2012
