Need the DM's to support flanks

im playing like this:

i want Khedira and Diarra to support flanks but just cant get it, tried Hug touchline wide play, defensive mentally and press + man marking, just cant get them to do that. why?

Maybe try "Hug touchline" with closing down to "Whole pitch". This is an unorthodox tactical layout and therefore am quite perplexed about giving you advice. That's all I can suggest really.

Erm, what Nick said should work.
If not try adjusting your width..

roaming and creative freedom to move into space. They won't go up field much, but they should spread more.

Also increase playing width may help. Telling them to dribble often may help as well.

Love the tactic by the way, good job at being brave.
