During my search for a Buffon replacement, I notice that I have a decent looking young goalie (Leali) that could provide me with an answer.

One thing though, he has a Potential Ability of -9. What does this mean? Is it some form of code to produce random attributes and/or PA? If so, within what range? eg., does -10 = 180-200, -9 = 160-180 etc?

If I look another likely option (Krul), he has a defined PA of 170 - so how does a PA of -9 compare?

I don't want to spend £20m on Krul if I can just train up Leali - so long as I can be fairly sure I am getting a decent player, so I'm just trying to understand these stat differences.

You've got it right. Not sure exactly what the integers are but it's something similar to yours. -10 is World Class, or 4.5-5 star potential; -9 is Very Good, or 4-4.5 star potential etc.

-10 = PA 170-200
-9 = 150-180
-8 = 130-160
-7 = 110-140
-6 = 90-120
-5 = 70-100
-4 = 50-80
-3 = 30-60
-2 = 10-40
-1 = 0-20

0 = Completely random

Just found Raikan's sticky explaining all this. Typical (H)
