Network Game help ??

Okay so me and 2 mates want to do this network game, we have all tried to host but nothing seems to work. We're going to preferences > network > run as server etc. and when we type in the I.P address of the host it just says 'unable to connect to server'. Please help

best thing to do is to download hamachi, its a server program. that should help

Cheers, what do I do once i've downloaded hamachi ?
