Hi,

About to start a network game with my two friends. I will be Chelsea.

I have signed Cuadrado for the right wing, and have all the new signings thanks to LFC Marshall's fantastic update.

I will line up like this:

View attachment 339705

My defenders will all pass short apart from the right back who goes direct. My attacking players go pretty direct, and Fabregas doesn't have a passing specification.

Will this work? I want my team to be solid and hard to beat.

Thanks,
Aidan

With Schurrle as Inside Forward_Support and encouraged to cut inside, I would put Felipe on Attack duty with instructions to Get Further Forward and Cross More Often so that he can provide additional width on the left flank and add new momentum to some attacks. I've had success playing Luke Shaw as an attacking Left-Back behind the Croatian Karlo Lulic as Inside Forward; Lulic is right-footed and becomes dangerous when he moves infield. I'd switch Azpilicueta to Support so that Willian doesn't get isolated on the right wing.

I'd prefer Terry and Cahill to both be Central Defender_Defend with instructions to Pass Shorter and Close Down More, but the way you have them might suit those two particular players better. Try it and see what happens, I guess.

Why not live a little and try Fabregas on More Risky Passes. He'll give it away here-and-there but also provide some excellent service to the attacking four ahead of him.

At the Team Level, I would start with CONTROL and BALANCED mentality; starting on ATTACK gives you nowhere to go should things not work out for you from the start.

filipe needs to have attack duty, azpilicueta needs to have support duty...striker can be either poacher, adv. forward or target man with attack duty...also, cahill will probably struggle, as you have set man marking with hassle, and he needs to do zonal marking with his cover duty...also, I like to have both sidebacks on same duty and adjust strategy accordingly. For attack duty attack or overload strategy, for control, standard and counter support duty, for defend and contain defend duty. You can mix, but it never ended up well in my saves. If you want attack strategy, they should both be on attack, and their wingers on support..
