McCoist and Rangers part ways
Today the rangers board have announced the end of Ally McCoist’s reign in charge of Rangers, what we hear is that McCoist and Rangers have mutually agreed that it is time for the club to move on under a new manager.
McCoist came into some criticism towards the end of Rangers League One winning campaign as fans grew frustrated over his style of play and signings. McCoist has said he believes it is time he takes some time out of the game and see where he goes from there. The Rangers board have already praised the massive contribution that mcCoist has made at Ibrox as the loyalty he has shown has kept Rangers going through dark times. The board are now set to look for a replacement with many ex players being linked with the vacancy of which has been described as a ‘dream job’.
Stuart McCall and Terry Butcher both remain joint favourites for one to take over. The likes of Brian Laudrup, Barry Ferguson, Jorg Albertz and Michael Mols have all been linked, Paul Gascoigne is amongst the candidates but due to his health he is the least favourite to get the job.
