So I started a game as Newcastle and couldn't win a game, so I changed to Stoke and still no luck! It's making me not want to play :( Any ideas?

Try a team like Barcelona or Man Utd to start of and once you get used to it move on too lower teams.

buy this guy called lionel messi, hes alright and could help

I tried rinkering and still couldn't find the balence :( I also don't like managing big teams, it's kind of boring.

Failing that Cristiano Ronaldo ;)

Try a team thats fighting for europe like Everton and play quite a few friendlies to get to grips with the system you like

start as either arsenal, chelsea, man utd, liverpool, man city or spurs

Try downloading some proven tactics from this site, look at whats working for them and what they do differently to you and use the information to build your own tactic. Worked for me :)

I've had similar problems i always want to start low though never really been able to stick at a game either though! But now im Benfica i love it big fish little pond im not great at the game but I find one of the big teams in Portugal is really enjoyable! and you wont feel as if your a huge team either when you are playing in europe

Try going a lower league side that are favourites to get promotion as getting promotion is tough and exciting. for example in fm2010 i went Notts Co. who had good financial backing and i ended up winning the premiership. Now in fm2011 i went Livingston and ended up in the SPL, winning the scottish cup and in europe, its a challenge, to too easy but not overly difficult, keeps the game interesting.

Try a mid-table team or at least top half. May I suggest Aston Villa? I played 2 seasons with them when I first got the game :). And although they spent a good chunk of their budget on Bent and Makoun, they still have some money left (if you adjust the budget, probably around £15m) and some quality players.

Hey, you wouldn't mind posting screenies of your last few starting line-ups and tactics.

I'm currently having great success with Newcastle and might be able to give you a hand.

create a team and create players that have 20 in everything and 200 pa, and put it in the bsn or bss

Google and download: 'Tactical Theorems'

Even though it is for FM2010, it still helps, I downloaded it 3 days ago and made a tactic for Burnley (which works)!

By the way, it is free.
