New to recent transfer updates, help!

I've just started a network game with my mate on the newest transfer update, and I haven't played any other saves since release! So I'm a bit stumped as the normal players I woulda signed's prices have all flew up. Or the players I'd want to sign who are available for compensation, don't want to talk to me!

I'm Swansea, he's Everton. Any recommendations as to who to get?
So far I've only signed Strandberg. I have around ?8m, he has ?10m.

I've only played United since the update, so bare with me, but:

James Wilson, Andreas Pereira, Adnan Januzaj (especially) and Tom Lawrence got boosts in United's youth.
Volland with his 12m release fee is a fantastic deal.
Timo Werner can be got for 10m as an alternative.
Balanta can be got cheap with a loan back clause.

Volland would be a good shout, not sure if he'll join Swansea though! Any others maybe a bit cheaper? Looking to get rid of quite a few players in the squad atm so need some players!

A.Zivkovic turns out class and can be bought for 1.2mil at start of the game.
Batshuayi has a 6.5mil release clause and has been banging them in for me at Ajax since the 1st season.
Lucas Romero isn't as good in the update but for 5mil he's still class, as is Gaston Gil Romero, same price.
As said above, Balanata, or Doria and Tobio as alternatives. Also Jonathan Silva is brilliant for ~1.5mil.
Verratti can be loaned 1st season.
