Im playing as newcastle too in my second season. Heres who I got in those positions.

Striker -Lucas (sao paulo) he is an utter beast in the second season. Starts as amc but retrain him 6.5m
CDM - De Jong - was transfer listed at end of season 1 5.5m
GK - Vincent Enyeama 8m

at the end of the first season there are some top players on the transfer list if you have a look.
 
I played with Newcastle 2 seasons and i brought Felipe Caicedo form Man city, he is a great player, and scores 25 golas in premier league with me,i also brought Juan Mata,Niko Kranjcar and Asmir Begovic.This is the hires that i recommend for you!!
And listen me bring this players!And you have to play in 4-3-2-1.(3 in the center midfield,2 advanced wings and Caicedo as a forward)

If on official updates Enyeama's 275k at most, on LFC Marshals patch got him for free transfer start of 2nd season.

im using the latest transfer update so he was at lille when I bought him
