non-contract scouts

hi forum,
i was searching for staff and found some scouts who requested "non-contracts". as i understand it, these work on a month-by-month basis for £0 and are free to leave whenever. have i understood this correctly? also, has anyone had any issues with scouts leaving etc. fwiw they are paul johnson, paul van himst and gokhan keskin (im aston villa) and i was very pleased to get a good scope of knowledge for apparently nothing but have i got this wrong? cheers guys.

It's better to tie them down to a proper contract if you can, simply to prevent them leaving whenever they feel like it.
