Noob question: can I download a new database and start from July 2016

Sorry about this daft question, but I haven't played for a long time.

- If I want to start from the beginning of the 2016/2017 season, can I just download a new database and get going, or will I simply start at the beginning of last season with updated transfers?

No you cant forward the date. but you can update the database.
 
the game always starts from the season 2015/16 in FM16 but you can download a custom database that recreates the current real life reality :)
 
you can with about 50 quid in november. it's called FM2017 :p
 
Thx. Where do I find a custom database that also takes account for the current date?
