Villa sign former Canaries boss Lambert
BBC Sport understands Lambert as moved clubs
After doing back to back promotions with Norwich City Paul Lambert has left the Canaries to join Aston Villa. Lambert, 42 years of age says he loved managing Norwich but it was time to move on.
"He has been a great manager for us and I wish him all the best in the future" said Smith, the Norwich City Chairman.
Stuart Pearce has been labelled favourite for the job but Ginfranco Zola, Avram Grant and Mick Mccarthy are also in the running. Earlier reports claimed Mick Mccarthy had been contacted by Norwich City
