I play one up front with two wide set as IFs. Now I'm generally happy with my tactics and my strikers get themselves into the box and make chances but are very inconsistent and miss a lot, yet my IFs seem to score a lot more getting into same positions. Doesn't seem to matter what role i set for lone striker or who I use it still is a problem. Anyone else having this problem?

Are your IFs set to attack or support? Is your striker getting out numbered by the opposition and has he enough time on the ball?

i play one as attack and usually one on support. Yes I do find sometimes the striker is crowded or is too far out when receiving the ball and either loses it or shoots from distance. I tried setting 'shoot less often' but little success.

I get my inside forwards to stay wider and shoot less often. Give that a go dude

If you use a lone striker, it is unlikely he will ever be your main source of goals. The majority of goals will come from midfield.

when a striker runs out of options, he will often shoot rather than say, dribble into a defender, so your striker is likely recieving the ball in positions where he has few options. Maybe he isnt good enough of a passer to find the IF-A, or the IF-A is making wide runs, or none at all, all could be issues.

oh, and I disagree. He just needs a ton of support. I've had a lone striker score 35+ a season for me for many years, including PL winning ones. Thats the beauty of the game, different strokes for different folks :).

It takes a special player, or a team setup entirely focused around him, to get a lone striker scoring the majority of goals. Which is why I said it is unlikely. :)

i have the same issue. playing 4-4-2 with man city and my 2 strikers havent scored for 18 matches except 3 penalties. my wingers and CMs score a whole lot more and Navas is topping the league. it's baffling. i have no idea what to do. my strikers average rating are (6.48 for aguero, negredo 5.76 and dzeko 6.98 but played less games)

oh i forgot to add everyone else in my team is scoring especially midfielders and fullbacks.
