Nottingham Forest... Back to Where They Belong!

I know there have been a couple of these doing the rounds already, but as this is the team that I support, I think it is more than justified to see how I get on with the mighty reds. My aim is to get promoted 1st season followed by survival in prem and europe after that.

To begin with, I've decided to use a tactic found from the tactics theorem book. I know a lot of people seem to use the guardiola tactic, but I think that the players I have aren't really good enough to be the most effective tactic to use. Therefore, I've decided to use the Sunderland/Steve Bruce tactic, which is very disciplined and rigid and I think will be most effective to get me out of championship.

Having met the chairman blah blah blah... my aim is to get in top half of table.... given 800k and 130kpw wage budget.... should be enough to get the players I need.

I will update this thread regularly to let people know how i'm doing... I always start as forest, the best game being on FM 09 where after 5 seasons finished 2nd in prem, regular league cup finalists and champs league quarter finalists.... lets see if can do any better!

v Bournemouth (a) - Won 4-0
v Crewe (a) - Won 5-0
v Fulham (h) - Lost - 1-3
v Oxford (a) - Won 3-0
v Swindon (a) - Drew 2-2
v Dag & Red (a) - Won 5-1 (one nil down after half time)

By the end of August I had done a fair bit of wheeling and dealing... which can be found below:

Have Around 1.5 million by the end of August window in transfer kitty, should come in handy for possible jan deals

Here Are My August Results:

Reading 1 (Howard Pen 17)- Forest 3 (Camara 45+1, 55 & Blackstock 64 ) - Solid start, although helped by a Reading sending off in first half.

Forest 3 (Mattock og 13, Djorjic, 70, Camara 79) - West Brom 2 (10,37) - Good win against a strong West Brom.

Forest 2 (Camara 7 & Anderson 80) - Watford 0 - 3 wins on the bounce for the best possible start to season.

QPR 2 (Vine 52 & Buszaki 56) - Forest 1 (Cohen 45 + 1) - 1st defeat of season although a good effort against decent QPR

Forest 2 (Barazite 45 & Djordjic 75 ) - Derby 2 (Summerfield 9 & Hulse 39) - Leveled having been 2-0 down to keep fans happy over arch rivals.

Carling Cup

Battered Burton Albion 5-0 at home, and sneaked a cheeky win away at Wolves in 2nd Round , winning 2-1 and face east midlands rivals Leicester City in 3rd round

Overall a good month to start with!

September Results:

Sheff Weds 0 - Forest 0 - Bit of a dull one but an away point

Ipswich 3 (Priskin, Stead, Garvan) - Forest 3 (McGoldrick & Blackstock 2) - Another good away point

Forest 3 (Blackstock 2 & Earnshaw) - Blackpool 0 - Solid home win

Plymouth 3 (Seip 2 & Patterson) - Forest 4 (Camara 2 & Blackstock 2) - Vital away win early in season - Plymouth were 3rd before match!

Forest 5 (Blackstock 2, Camara, Meriem & Earnshaw ) - Scunthorpe 1 (Crosby) - Battered Scunny but gave away penalty in 90th minute - Gunter also sent off!

End of month : Top of League with 21 points - On goal difference (3 better off than Palace in 2nd) -

Blackstock gets player of month award - scores 8 in last 5!

Beat Leicester away in Carling Cup 3-0.... now got Blackburn away in fourth round.

Gutted didnt get manager of month after a very good month!

Peterborough 0 - Forest 0 - Bit dissappointed but still good point away

Forest 2 (Blackstock & Camara) - Newcastle 1 (Gutierrez) - Good Result against the toon

Forest 3 (Blackstock 2 & Earnshaw) - Barnsley 0 - Solid result keeps good form going

Crystal Palace 1 (John) - Forest 2 (Booth & Blackstock) - Great win after going 1 down!

Lost to Blackburn in Carling Cup 4th Round - to a 91st minute winner! Still, were mainly prem league teams left so good indicator to where i'm going.

Again no manager of the month despite being top and unbeaten for the month. Guess they don't want to give me the curse of MOM award haha!

November Results:

Cardiff 3 (Whittingham, Chopra & Rae) - Forest 1 (Camara) - First defeat since august against struggling Cardiff

Forest 0 - Bristol City 1 (Carey) - poor performance & missed penalty

Middlesbrough 3 (Shawky,Welbeck & Emnes ) - 0 Forest - Another poor performance and another missed penalty

Forest 2 (Cohen & Earnshaw) - Doncaster Rovers 1 (Heffernan) - First win in 4 games

A disappointing month, blackstock & camara both out for 4 weeks - a sign of where my goals are coming from! Dropped from 1st to 3rd - so still in the hunt for promotion!

Got Bristol City in FA Cup 3rd round - who are top at the moment.

Sheff Utd 2 (Henderson, Evans) - Forest 1 (Camara) - Disappointing defeat against rivals

Swansea 0 - Forest 2 (Camara & Anderson) - Good away win

Forest 1 (Earnshaw) - Preston 0 - Scored in 90th minute

Watford 1 (Hoskins) - Forest 1 (Earnshaw) - Conceded equaliser in final minute of game!

Forest 1 (Meriem) - Coventry 0 - Another result grinded out

Finsh the year 2nd - Hopefully the new year will bring me promotion come May!

Looking to do some wheeling and dealing in January and hopefully get a decent cup run going

January Results:

West Brom 1 (Koren) - Forest 0 - Not a good start to the month

Forest 1 (Blackstock) - Reading 2 (Pearce & Matejovski) - Poor show against struggling Reading

Forest 3 (Blackstock 2 & Majewski)- QPR 3 (Buszaki , Vine & Simpson) - Decent Result Against QPR

Derby 2 (Leacock & Varney) - Forest 2 (Wilson & Camara) - Another draw with arch rivals.

FA Cup - 3rd round beat Bristol City 1-0 but lost in 4th to bottom team Leicester City 1-0

Still 2nd in table - But Bristol City are 11 points ahead and are running away with it, hopefully they begin to slip like I have

Feburary Results:

Forest 2 (Bjordjic & Camara) - Sheff Wed 0 - Played most of game with 10 men

Coventry 0 - Forest 1 (Majewski) - Another battling performance

Forest 1 (Blackstock) - Sheffield Utd 1 (Evans) - Draw against rivals

Forest 1 (Bjordjic) - Middlesbrough 2 (Aliadiere & Perea) - Poor show against Middlesbrough

Doncaster 0 - Forest 4 (Sullivan OG, Camara 2 & Blackstock) - Comfortable win

Leicester City 3 (Litmanen, King & Chambers) - Forest 1 (Blackstock) - Shock defeat to bottom side - missed a penalty to go 2-0 up as well,turning point of game.

Now dropped to 3rd - 3 points behind Palace who are on a good run. Have a better goal difference than Palace so hope they slip up soon. Bristol City will need to lose at least 6 in a row for any chance of top spot.

Bristol City have just lost in Carling Cup final to Man Utd - having a very good season.

Preston 0 - Forest 0 -Stalemate where dominated

Barnsley 1 (Hume) - Forest 1 (Booth) - Another battling draw. Need a win soon

Forest 2 (Cohen & Camara) - Peterborough 1 (McClean) - Good win that was much needed

Forest 3 (Blackstock, Anderson & Meriem) - Crystal Palace 0 - Spectacular win against 2nd place Palace

Newcastle 1 (Carrol) - Forest 2 (Anderson & Blackstock) - Great away win against the toon again!

Those last few wins have put me back in the frame for automatic promotion at the business end of the season
