(European Championship U21 Qualifiers)

England handed a first start to Sunderland prospect Martyn Waghorn today, partnering teeside rival Andy Carroll. Kieran Gibbs and Cleverley occupy the wings, as pace seems to be Malin's favourite attribute.

The game kicked off with England starting on the front foot, as usual it seems to be these days. It was the Newcastle forward who opened the scoring on 34 minutes with a towering header. Waghorn then got his first England goal on 60 minutes as he finished amazingly, doubling England's lead. Waghorn doubled his own tally just 8 minutes later as he smashed it into the roof of the net from the penalty spot. Waghorn completed a good day for himself and England on 89 minutes as he headed in a teasing Gibbs cross, securing a play off spot for England.

The scoreline of 0-0 at the halfway point gave something for Malin to think about, especially with his top marksman, Theo Walcott injured. Waghorn replaced him and it was he who opened the scoring for England, once again. It was another top class header this time from a Sinclair cross. He doubled England's lead as he smashed into the top corner from a 20 yard free kick. Just 6 minutes later he got his second hat trick in as many games. England held on for a good solid victory.

ENGLAND 2-1 NORWAY
(European U21 Championship Qualifiers Play Off Leg 1)

After a difficult start the game, with Norway taking advantage of the home ground, England players and fans were shocked to still be on level terms at the break.

However, promising Man Utd forward Josh King finished a well worked move from Norway, handing them the lead just 42 seconds after the restart. Luckily, the goal seemed to lift England into second gear and as they pushed they got their reward as Jack Rodwell finished from a tight angle, with a world class strike equalling just 4 minutes later. Andy Carroll secured England won the tie with a good header from a Jay Simpson cross on 64 minutes.

ENGLAND 4-1 NORWAY
(European U21 Championship Qualifiers Play Off Leg 2)

After a shaky first leg, England looked to put that behind them and qualify for the upcoming European Championships. Angelo Balanta of Q.P.R. was handed his first England cap, starting on the left wing. It was Theo Walcott who found old form as he produced a world class finish to beat the Norweigan stopper. Walcott doubled the team and his own personal tally as he added another from a tight angle. Balanta got a goal on his international debut. He made the scoreline convincing as he got a debut brace to secure the win.
