Is there more like me that sign old famous footballers just for their names? In my case they are actully good at their jobs tho, but if I see some I like I usually get em to the staff ^^

The ones I have gotten to my Rotherham side atm (Lost Andy Cole last season, didnt want to renew the contract =/)

I do this as well. Espescially if its a player who I had at the club before they retired. But only if they are decent at their job, depending on the club I manage. For coaches that usually means 4 stars or better, and for scouts 15+ judgement attributes.

I do sometimes, I've got Ryan Giggs as a coach aswell, also had Benni McCarthy but he wasn't that good

I tend to only sign older players who have big names at cheap prices, then release them without offering a staff role. I.E in my Newcastle story David Beckham and Thierry Henry.

Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini I always try sign them as coaches, also ex players that are coaches with Ajax

Vieri is a good scout, Bierhoff is excellent as well. Viduka occasionally turns out to be 4 star shooting coach sometimes he's a **** manager though. Camoranesi and Clarence Seedorf usually turn out as good scouts/coaches

I once had Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs as successive assistants :P

i dont sign them as players, I will search for coaches that i need and alot of the times the "oldies" turn into great coaches as you can see... (I signed Gary Neville as he was "touted" to replace me at West Ham after the Board Takeover, this was after finishing 3rd with them in my 1st season after them finishing 16th the year before)

Do it all the time, especially like keeping players in my team who are retiring as coaches, it just seems nice, and you do get the odd one who turns into a belting coach.

On my West Ham side, I got Matt Upson as a coach and also Barry Ferguson and Michael Owen.Made them all my players at one point and talked them into staying in the game :)

Prosinecki is a good shooting coach, 4 stars and unemployed at start of the game. Cheap wages too.
