The missions are simple really - take over Newcastle United and outlast Mike (C)Ashley at the club, how long it will take who knows (domination in the world of club football is a secondary goal- lol) and while doing so become manager of Scotland and win either the World Cup or European Championships. (I have never become Scotland manager in fm 12 yet only Belgium, Serbia, Spain and France)

----------------------
I should point out that I am using a database that I downloaded ages ago and kept it up to date myself (although no player attributes have been changed, just transfers like Donovan on loan to Everton, Kris Boyd to free transfer, Trezeguet to River Plate etc and some nationalities, staff, feeder teams, etc oh and stadium names like the Sports Direct Arena! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr). I was having a brilliant game with Bilbao but that save refuses to load up now:'(

SQUAD 1ST IMPRESSIONS
As a Newcastle United fanatic I do have some pre-conceived ideas and opinions so there will be a major clear out and I have transfer listed almost the entire reserve team (please leave James Perch!) and a few 1st teamers (Harper, Shola Ameobi, Best, Lovenkrands and Smith).

I feel I have a great spine to the side and in the formation that I wish to play I really only need to sign a RW and a back up CB/GK however if a decent full back comes available I will hopefully pounce. Otherwise it is going to be youth all the way!

There also seems to be a good group of young players especially Abeid, Vuckic and Campbell. Hopefully I will be able to develop them to their maximum potential.

Will post a pre-season update just before my first league game with transfers etc

PRE SEASON

Lots of staff came and went with Dave Watson appointed as my new assistant manager. There was also a return to the club for fitness coach Paul Winsper. Player wise it has been great. I have sold a lot of deadwood in my eyes and shaved a lot off the wage bill giving me more cash to spend (getting rid of Alan Smith's wage was a bonus!). I managed to get an increase of the transfer income percentage and raked in £2m+ on clauses from the Bassong and Edgar deals and then I must have caught Mr. Ashley straight after he had won at the casino again because he gave me a higher wage budget and a feeder team (Litex Lovech).

The major signings were Junior Hoilett and Ruben Rochina from Blackburn, Guti, and Mbaye Niang (was a bit creative in using monthly payments) while leaving the club were Alan Smith, Shola Ameobi, Leon Best, Steve Harper, Peter Lovenkrands and a host of young players who were never going to make it. Unfortunately I could only offload James Perch on loan.

So I am set to go and my first fixture? At home to the Mackems!
