Paolo Maldini over the past few years after retiring has been gaining his coaching badges and working with the AC Milan youth team and had his heart set on replacing leonardo after he was sacked, but servilo bellusconni didnt agree.
Paolo was disheartened but after a suprise phone call from Aston Villa chariman he was offered the job to replace Gerard Houllier who had angered the fans on many occasions last season...Paolo accepted the offer and many people in the media and around Villa are tipping this young manager to emulate the success Jose Mourinho had at chelsea after taking them from a good team to a european force.
Paolo has already stated "i want to sign good young british talent, even though im not fluent in english yet" but he is a firm believer in young players and has already pointed out that a contract has been offered to Adel Taarbt from QPR after a great last season.
Fingers crossed to Maldini Success.
