Persistent Steam Problems

Bought FM11 3 days ago and still haven't managed to get it going on my system. I use a macbook and my problems are as follows. I downloaded and installed it correctly (supposedly) yet every time I click Play, it comes up with a box saying validating files, then once it gets to 100%, it says Steam servers are too busy to handle your request. It's happened 3 days on the trot so it can't actually be the Steam servers. I then tried deleting game content and and reinstalling yet when I clicked install again it said the same message "steam servers too busy". Now the message in the top left corner, just says Football Manager 11 - Download starting, yet nothing happens.

Could you not just contact Steam thereselves are have a ask or search and see if Steam have a forum and type your question on there.
