Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex has left the club by mutual agreement, after a fall-out with key striker, Aaron Mclean. It was a training ground bust-up, that provoked the dismissal. It is said that club chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, thought Aaron was a more valuable asset than Mr. Ferguson.

Two Days Later..

After several, strenuous hours in the backroom of London Road, Barry Fry and Co have reached terms on a 2 year managerial deal with a virtual unknown, Harvey Bosworth.
Bosworth, who grew up watching the Posh stated that getting the job really was a dream come true and looks forward to a long career managing the relegation canditate team, "My primary objective is to survive what will be a very tough relegation battle and build from there. The key to survival is a solid 'back-four' but we also need to be able to pose a threat going forward, and I believe we have this with A.Mclean and C.Mackail-Smith."

Transfers

I feel that I need at least 3 signing to attempt for the club to survive a huge relegation battle. I am looking for a Centre Back to re-enforce the back line and am also looking at some midfielders and possibly a Right Back.

I have a reasonable amount of confidence in the squad and will possibly look to offload some players I consider as deadwood at the earliest opportunity.

Good luck, I have a soft spot for Posh.

No idea why though XD

Transfer News

A dark cloud fell around London Road a few days ago when it emerged that fan favourite George Boyd left the club to persue his career elsewhere, as he signed for West Ham United for a sum close to £1.6m.
The clouds parted few days later when Christer George joined the club. Bosworth stated that he thought by losing a talented player such as Boyd he would bring in a little more experience, hence turning to the 29 year old Norwegian who has had an illustrious career with the likes of Rosenborg.

Ins

Gylfi Einarsson - £55k from Brann -- An experienced 30 year old central midfield who can serve the side well attacking or defending.

Francis Dickoh - £325k from FC Utrecht -- The 26 year old Ghanean has represented his country on 11 occasions so has the experience for the club. He is 26, so still has at least six years in him.

George Christer - Free -- As mentioned before he has had an illustrious career at a well-known club. He's 29, so is getting on a bit but I believe he can steer us to survival in what will be a tough first season.

Outs

Sergio Torres - £50k to Shrewsbury -- I see Torres as a player who will get little if any game time so I have offloaded him to attempt to revive his career.

George Boyd - £1.6m to WHU -- He expressed his desire to leave when I first met him, as much as I would of like to keep him, it would be unfair to keep him at the club, if he wanted to leave. It was a sad day for the fans and they would love to see him back at the club, whichever team he is on.

Friendly Results

Peterborough 3-1 Partick Thistle
Yeovil 0-1 Peterborough
Stockport 1-2 Peterborough
Brechin 0-7 Peterborough
Peterborough 1-4 Sunderland
Peterborough 2-1 GH Academy
Peterborough 0-1 Stoke City

Overall I am happy with the results but the main concern was the 4-1 defeat at home to Sunderland. The main concern of this result was the number of goals conceded but we picked up from the loss, with a win against GH Academy.

August Results

Derby 0-1 Peterborough (Aaron McLean)
A great start to the season for the lads with Aaron Mclean getting the only goal of the game. We dominated possession and it paid off with our counter attacking mentality.

League Cup: Yeovil 0-2 Peterborough (Christer George, 2)
The new signing Christer George got both goals in the game, albeit one was a rather dodgy penalty decision. Possession was equal between the sides however our defence was solid and they had one shot the entire game, and it was blocked.

Peterborough 1-1 Sheff. Wed (Izale McLeod)

Izale Mcleod scored midway through the second half in a very equal game. It was 10 minutes before time when Sheffield scored what proved to be the final goal in a quite dull game. We had plenty of shots but lack of accuracy meant we only took the 1 point.

Peterborough 0-2 West Brom

The less said about this game the better, they dominated us in every aspect. We was lucky to have only conceded 2, and if not for Joe Lewis it would have been 4 or 5.

Preston 1-3 Peterborough (McLeod, Mifsud, George)

A good all round performance from everybody. Both teams had chances on goal but we provided the better finishing. Unlucky to concede, as a lapse in concentration after McLeod was substituted after picking up a knock. Welbeck caught us off guard in the 87th minute.

Blackburn 5-2 Peterborough (Einarsson, McLean)

We took an early lead in the 10th minute, and doubled it soon after. We led into half time, I made two substitutions and it went downhill from there. We couldn't maintain possession and Blackburn kept bombarding and it was inevitable they would score but I am annoyed we conceded so many.

Peterborough 0-1 Crystal Palace

We were all over Palace in the end but the early goal they scored proved to be key. We had the majority of possession and more shots, but couldn't convert. The turning point in the match came on 78mins when McLean was pulled down in the area but could not score from the spot.

Transfers

I've signed three players this month, two on a free and the other for £120k;

Hans Somers - £120k from FC Utrecht -- I signed this lad to provide some width to the team with hope that he can provide some killer crosses.

Michael Mifsud - Free -- Hopefully can provide a goal threat to rival Izale McLeod, he was a forced signing as Izale was injured and is out 4-7 weeks.

Gareth Williams - Free -- Approached Gareth to give him a rotational role and I am hoping he can perform well from the bench.

Good luck man, aim for playoffs

Will do, but looking to survive relegation this season. Maybe in two or three seasons time when I've built up a better squad.

INJURY ****

Aaron McLean was stretchered off in the 88th minute against QPR last night. He was put straight into an ambulance to Peterborough Hospital. The worst had happened, x-rays showed McLean had broken his right foot and has been sent to see a specialist. The squad was shook up for the remaining 5 minutes but they clinched a winner with seconds remaining. The scorer, Mifsud, devoted his goal to his injured strike partner who was in tears in hospital knowing he could not participate for at least 5 months, this could jeapordise any hopes of survival to the relegation candiate team.

Great start to the league, good luck on keeping the posh up!

Misfud is a wonderful signing and that must be horrible that injury to Maclean :(

Will be following ;)

Peterborough is always a tough challenge mate, here are some signings you can make;

Nacer Barazite - Loan
Carl Robinson - Free
Remi Mareval - 85k
Pierre Michel Germann - Free (Class Player For The Posh)

hope these help.

Jamie Mackie and Rory Fallon can do a good job in the Championship (Fallon especially)

You can also try and get somebody like Ashley Barnes on loan, 8 goals for me in the season with me at Swansea- Not a bad player.

Mackail-Smith celebrating his goal against QPR.

September Results

QPR 1-2 Peterborough (Mackail-Smith, Mifsud)
Good performance from the lads here, but the victory was shadowed by McLean's shock injury, in which he broke his foot. Mifsud struck the winner deep into injury time after Rowlands levelled it from the spot just before half time.

Leicester 0-3 Peterborough (Simpson 2, Mifsud, pen)
Dominated the team that went up with us last year, had draw written all over it before the game but nobody counted on the performance of Josh Simpson, the central midfielder. Mifsud scored the penalty although Simpson was wanting to take it to get his hat-trick.

Peterborough 3-0 Reading (Mackail Smith, hat-trick)
Shock result but deserved nonetheless, Craig scored 14 minutes in against the run of play and it got us back into it. A sublime performance by the striker, as he got 2 more bagging 4 for the season.

Blackpool 4-4 Peterborough (Mifsud 2, Dickoh, Mackail-Smith)
A good result to keep level from the team, I was unsure whether we would get the draw when Blackpool scored in the 87th minute, but we had faith and the goal came. Great finishing from Mifsud gained us a two-nil lead in the first 16 minutes but two quick Blackpool goals levelled it before 21mins. The rest of the game was well fought and both teams deserved a point at least.

Peterborough 1-0 Plymouth (George)
Another good result against a strong opposition, in the match we were tipped as favourites but we were never in a comfortable position, Plymouth had the chances but just could not finish. Minutes after half time my summer signing, Christer George, popped up after a teasing run from Mifsud to slot home and we kept the lead until the final whistle. Good result.

We have had an unbelievable start to the season winning 6 games, drawing 2 and losing just 2. The Peterborough board are delighted with me and I am delighted with the team. We're currently lying in 5th spot and the fans are exstatic.

Next Month's Fixtures

October Results

Peterborough 2-2 Nottm Forest (Mackail-Smith, Whelpdale)
Good performance against a great team, Forest being promotion favourites were game favourites also and didn't dissapoint with them getting off to a flyer scoring within 4 minutes. They then doubled the lead but Mackail-Smith replied seconds after the restart, so that old saying is true, you are most vulnerable when you've just scored. We than grabbed another one and clung on for a draw.

Bristol City 2-2 Peterborough (Mifsud, Mackail-Smith)
Another good game, which any Posh fan would agree that we were robbed with a very suspicious looking penalty on 89 minutes. We had a 2 goal lead by half time but let it slip after a messy Bristol goal.

Doncaster 1-2 Peterborough (George)
A rather dissapointing result against a team that the bookies said were underdogs. A very even first half with not many chances created but Donny took the lead 11 minutes after the restart with a superb solo effort by John Oster. We looked like we were going to ****** a point when Christer George scored on 86 minutes but James Hayter grabbed a goal in the 88th minute that proved to be the winner.

Peterborough 1-0 Scunthorpe (Mackail -Smith)
Evenly matched game, but we came out on top thanks to Mackail-Smith with his 8th of the season. We were on top in front of goal but couldn't get past the Scunny keeper.

Peterborough 3-0 Barnsley (Mifsud, Livermore, George)
Great game from the lads as we dominated the underdogs from the off, Mifsud scored on 5 minutes beating the offside trap and taking it past the keeper. Livermore added to the lead with a superb effort that was rightfully awarded goal of the month. George confirmed the win on 56 minutes and we sat back and relaxed from then.
