I've decided to start a new game with Plymouth Argyle with a direct aim to reach the Premier League and mix it up with the big boys.
I am a lifelong supporter of the club and have seen the team rise from the old Third Division to the Coca Cola Championship under the leadership of Paul Sturrock.
They don't have a great squad; the resources are average for a club of their stature, but the foundations are there to be built upon.
I have devised what I think is a reasonable plan:-
Season 1. Consolidation in the Championship; build the squad; stay well clear of relegation.
Season 2. Finish in the top half; make an outsider push to the play-offs.
Season 3. Get promoted; either via the play-offs or in automatic spot. There must also be a squad capable of challenging in the top flight, so there is a reasonable chance of staying up.
Season 4. Fight bravely against relegation.
Season 5. Consolidate Premier League status.
It is an ambitious plan for a club who have never played in the top flight, but in the lottery of the Championship it is very possible for us to get promoted with hard work and an organised side.
I will be posting regular updates and screenshots on my progress, including matches, transfers, league tables and squads. Thanks for reading
