Hi there everyone,
I am a longstanding player of the CM/FM series and have finally decided to ask about something I have long wondered. Just how much does the Current/Potential ability rating of a player dictate their performance?

I have been playing as Birmingham City and in 2016 have a rather great squad. I have at my disposal the following strikers...

Alfred Finnbogason
Simone Zaza
Mauro Icardi
Luis Fernando Muriel

Finnbogason's ability rating is 147 (current/potential)
Zaza is 140
Icardi is 160
Muriel 157

However, Simone Zaza is arguably the most consistent alongside Muriel.

Could someone please clarify. I am playing a formation with 2 strikers and they are both set as complete forwards.

CA/PA has nothing to do with how well they play.
Obviously those with really high CAs will generally be the best, It's all about how well that CA is spread out in key attributes.

Just play whoever performs best and is suited to the role in question.

Also you may not want to show the PA values, some people dislike it.

Thanks dude. Withdrawn the PA values. I was just a little dumbfounded!

I wouldn't worry too much.

Every save I play I pick up Dario Del Fabro as my defender (think he has around 157 PA) and he always ends up being world class for me even going as far as playing in Champions League finals.

Cheers. Have you tried Simone Zaza? PA not high at all but is an amazing striker. Scores spectacular goals too!
