In this thread I will list the best role(s) for each position for the best players available for that postion on FM11.

Key

GK = Goalkeeper
SWK = Sweeper Keeper
SW = Sweeper
LIBS = Libero (Support)
LIBA = Libero (Attack)
CDD = Central Defender (Defend)
CDS = Central Defender (Stopper)
CDC = Central Defender (Cover)
BPDD = Ball Playing Defender (Defend)
BPDS = Ball Playing Defender (Stopper)
BPDC = Ball Playing Defender (Cover)
LDD = Limited Defender (Defend)
LDS = Limited Defender (Stopper)
LDC = Limited Defender (Cover)
FBD = Full Back (Defend)
FBS = Full Back (Support)
FBA = Full Back (Attack)
WBD = Wing Back (Defend)
WBS = Wing Back (Support)
WBA = Wing Back (Attack)
DMD = Defensive Midfielder (Defend)
DMS = Defensive Midfielder (Support)
DLPD = Deep Lying Playmaker (Defend)
DLPS = Deep Lying Playmaker (Support)
ANCH = Anchor Man
WM = Wide Midfielder
WING = Winger
DW = Defensive Winger
CMD = Central Midfielder (Defend)
CMS = Central Midfielder (Support)
CMA = Central Midfielder (Attack)
BWMD = Ball Winning Midfielder (Defend)
BWMS = Ball Winning Midfielder (Support)
BTBM = Box To Box Midfielder
APS = Advanced Playmaker (Support)
APA = Advanced Playmaker (Attack)
IFS = Inside Forward (Support)
IFA = Inside Forward (Attack)
ATMS = Attacking Midfielder (Support)
ATMA = Attacking Midfielder (Attack)
TREQ = Trequartista
DLFS = Deep Lying Forward (Support)

ADF = Advanced Forward

have you not done something similar to this? the attributes for the positions? this is going to be pointless if you are going to have:

Target Man - Support = Oscar Cardozo
Poacher - Attack - Fernando Torres
Deep Lying Playmaker - Andrea Pirlo

are you going to use these players or different players?

I'd use Torres more as a complete forward?

Can you not let him get on with it? Even if it is pointless (I'd probably agree with you) he's not hurting anyone and only wasting his own time. And people that haven't read the original post might find it useful, and not have to wade through months of posts to find it...

Just a thought.

So according to this, there is no "top" keeper that is better at SWK than standard GK?

yes I have been looking at that this morning, it does help by giving each players best role but on this I would like to list every role for each position, sa some roles such as box to box midfielder and complete forward will never be listed as a players best role as they are calcutated over 18-20 attributes wheras most of the others are calculated over 10 attributes.

PS can anyone help me with a formating issue I am having with the player lists, I am writing up the lists on Microsoft excel to make them nice and neat and when I copy them onto the base it just muddles them all up and makes them look very untidy.
 
why not just have it as an Ms Excel attachment? can you upload that here? maybe upload it via another uploading site and post the link here?

Gee that is nice! What formula did you used for this? I find player role calculator really inacurate, I read somewhere it is just an average of the required stats.. I was hoping for a formula that calculator the scores with "steps" (0-10, 10-15, 15-18 etc) and also using a formula that prioritize the attributes as well..
