Hey guys

what player instructions would you give to your striker in order to make him more effective. I use an af in a 4-2-3-1.

I was using:
  • move into channels
  • more direct passes
  • more risky passes
  • shoot more often

My strikers such as rooney and rvp were getting assists more regular than scoring.

Last season records (including subs):
rvp - 25 games 8 goals 5 assists
rooney - 44 games 19 goals 22 assists
chicharito - 33 games 16 games 4 assists
Welbz - 34 games 5 goals 6 assists

I've also added screenshots in case you guys wanted more information

Thanks :D

The most effective striker role for me in FM14 has been the F9, which both Rooney and RVP are brilliant at. Advanced Forwards, for me, get marginalized and aren't on the ball as much as I'd like. Usually I have to pair them with another striker who combines well, such as a DLF. Also, a tactic which relies too heavily on crosses to a single target can be easily defeated by a team packing their penalty area.

You might try the F9 role for your striker and perhaps change the way you attack up the left side. Griezman is a brilliant Inside Forward (Attack), and then you can have Luke Shaw as a Wingback staying wide and getting forward to whip in crosses.

Wouldn't having a F9 mean the striker would drop deep enough so then he gets into the amc position

They shouldn't get in each others' way, what they should do is combine with short passes or have the F9 drop deep pulling his defender with him and creating space for the AMC to get forward/get played in and attack that space.
