Player not wanting to renew contract!

Previously, i refused to allow my player Ben Davies to hold talk with liverpool which got him angry.
Then i promised him i will qualify for Euro Cup by next season and since then he did not want any contract talk with me and theres only half a year left to his contract.
He also do not wish to talk to me until i fulfill the promise. What can i do now? I dont want to lose him.

How in the world do you get an 8 year contract?

where it says length on contract (when dealling with new contracts) put it to 5 years and then thers addons to get added year(s) on to the contract in his final year.
