Is there a thread anywhere that kind of explains what each role does? I don't think the game does a good enough job of doing it. For example, explaining which DM role will just sit in front of the back 4 and protect them. Kind of like that, simplified if you will?

Yeah, but the roles are fairly well described. Saying that however, I'd like more detail in future.
