Hi I was wondering if someone could provide a full list of there own interpretation of the player roles with what modern day player suits that role. For example GK/sweeper for me would be victor valdes but im sure many people would differ in there opinion.

After reviewing the drawing board and many other discussions/stories I am very fascinated by other peoples perceptions of these roles and how they are used to evolve the tactics on FM14.

I also feel it would help create a platform for other users to build there own tactics.

Apologies if this is a thread already created if so can someone point me in the right direction towards that tread, if not Im looking forward to everyones thoughts.

Interesting, I can't be bothered to describe every position as I'm sure that's done somewhere online but as for examples I'll give it a go! (bear in mind the quality will vary, but assume the player is in his prime and playing at a level he can show his quality)

Goalkeeper - Fraser Forster
Sweeper Keeper - Fabian Barthez
Limited Full Back - John O'Shea (at Manchester United)
Full Back - Philip Lahm/Ashley Cole
Complete Wing Back - Dani Alves/Roberto Carlos
Limited Defender - Philippe Senderos (at his level, which is arguably Championship!)
Central Defender - Ryan Shawcross, Pepe, John Terry
Ball-playing Defender - Jan Vertonghen, David Luiz
Half-Back - Steven Gerrard (today)
Regista - Sergio Busquets
Anchorman - Makelele
DM - Essien
Deep Lying Playmaker - Xavi, Scholes, Pirlo
Box to Box - Gerrard (7-8 years ago)
Ball Winning Midfielder - Roy Keane
Cental Midfielder - Schwienstieger (sp)
Advanced Playmaker - Mesut Ozil
Attacking Midfeilder - Kaka
Inside Forward - Arjen Robben
Winger - Antonio Valencia/Ryan Giggs
Wide Midfielder - David Beckham
Defensive winger - Park Ji Sung
Poacher - Filippo Inzaghi/Van Nistelrooy
Complete Forward - Zlatan Ibrahimovic/Didier Drogba
Target Man - Bobby Zamora (2010), Andy Carroll
Advanced Forward - Javier Hernandez
Deep Lying Forward - Wayne Rooney
Trequartista - Riquelme
Defensive Forward - Jonathon Walters

There we go, agree/disagree with them? (I have to say, I struggled with the forwards since I play as a defender/midfielder in real life and have absolutely no clue what goes on in the opposition penalty area!!)

Check out my Yeovil story if you get a chance, it is hella good (6)
