AJ AUXERRE LOAN SPELL

So I was once again preparing for a season with another club on loan, as Bordeaux tried to work out what they wanted me to do. I was happy to drop to Ligue 2, I had no problems the year previous and I was willing to do anything to everyone what I can do.

We as a club, too, were desperate to show people what we could do. The French media spent pre-season berating our movements around the leagues and we really showed them.

It was an absolute walk in the park. I was a huge factor for the club too and this meant some real recognition from real people around France. Even had my idol, Thierry Henry discuss my talents on BT Sport's European Football Talk Show. I was in awe, like I was 6 again, watching him run rings around the best defenders in the world. This man, this hero said I had a future in the game and he'd personally love to see me compete in the top flight.

But I mean, who wouldn't want to see me compete in the top flight, week in, week out on TV.

A huge 24 goals in 43 games. 9 assists, meaning I was involved in 33 goals in 43 games. I picked up a few suspensions and that would need to be worked on.

I once again received a third-place top Goalscorer Trophy for Ligue 2. Unfortunately a few games I just couldn't find the net and this meant I couldn't go ahead of Gianni Bruno.

I also got a Team of the Year award.

I am also setting up for another Summer in a tournament as the Under 20 World Cup looms. The Under 21 Euro Championships are also set to take place but others prioritised the World Cup, so I will too.

I am excited, I could easily smash this World Cup and honestly with our group it should be more than possible..

Well done - team of the season in Ligue 2 at only 20 is a great achievement. Looks like there a big things ahead for Jeremy!

The 2019 Under-20 World Cup

It's time for my first World Cup experience, sure it's only the Under 20's but it's a big tournament for players. We had what was supposed to be an easy group and we were playing in Morocco, a French speaking, beautiful country - depending on where you are! Things didn't go great, however and we were very lucky.

Ivory Coast met us first, an African country, playing in an African based country and they scored early and we just couldn't get going.

We really had to try pick up the win against Trinidad & Tobago and our coach was very assertive going into the tie. We had no problems and our technical ability took us past them with no real issues as I picked up my first goal and MOTM award.

We needed points to either guarantee 2nd or hope we got through as best placed 3rd. We got neither and played poorly. Struggling to get anything really going before they scored late on.

We did manage to sneak in as the 4th best-placed 3rd team and were set to face a very strong Argentina side who had lost once in the last 2 years. Remember South America works with Under 20's, so it was a real big thing for them and things were really against us. Especially with the way we played.

We somehow did it, we were aggressive early on and this wound the young Argentinians up massively, they couldn't get passes played, they had bookings and red cards and we played out our skin!

We were setting up to play a very tired Columbia side for a top 4 finish. I hadn't done a whole yet as of yet. But I had been playing in a deeper position.

Unfortunately, we just couldn't do it. Cristian Quintero is an absolute beast who has smashed the tournament.

It wasn't a tournament I could have taken much from, which is a shame. I couldn't pull it off in big games, but no one played that good. Hopefully I can find myself in a Ligue 1 starting line-up next season and maybe even find myself in either the Euro Championship squad or even an Olympic squad next Summer!

Philippe Montanier, Bordeaux boss.

I came in to training after my extended holiday period after playing in the Under 20 World Cup to manager Philippe Montanier asking me to come into his office. I was half-expecting him to tell me I was going out on loan again, but instead we talked over my current contract terms and that he wanted me to be seen as a first team player over this next season.

He said the club were really pushing to get themselves back into Europe after seasons of sheer embarrassment and he wanted me to be apart of it. He was impressed with my huge performances in front of goal for AJ Auxerre. I was excited and hopefully this can be a big season for me playing against top clubs.

Gotaga Scores on Ligue 1 Debut

Jeremy Gotaga, the youngster from Alsace, today had his debut in France's top flight. It came against French champions, Lyon, in front of 55,000 people. Bordeaux kept the tie close but a 73rd minute penalty was proven to be too much as Lyon won 2-1. Gotaga signed in 2015 and has only just made his debut after seasons out on loan.

We asked Gotaga on his hopes and plans for the season and he told us "I am really excited actually, I have enjoyed my time with different people and clubs but now I am in the top League in France and I just want to play. I love playing. I love scoring, I love the fans cheering. I want to give back to the club and manager for giving me a chance. Hopefully we can do what we plan on doing this year and that is Europe!"

Ligue 1 is hard and Bordeaux is a bit of a mess.

After scoring on the opening day, I really thought I'd really get things going this season but I've been invisible in games. We, as a team, have very few shots, and few of them come to me anyway. I've been average and not had real chances but that's not what the media see. They see that I am playing as the only striker, who has played 16 games and only scored twice.

It was January and we were really struggling. Montanier was on the verge of the sack and he tried to keep strong but ended up just being frustrated as we never managed to play as he asked. We were just too poor, we wouldn't hold the ball and chances would never be created. I had 5 months to show people I was cut out for this level, otherwise I may find myself back out on loan or just sold on completely.

Relegation Awaits Bordeaux
/ SEASON 2019/20 REVIEW

The final day of Ligue 1 is setting up to be an exciting one as we have a huge battle at the bottom of the table, with Bordeaux, Lens, Toulouse, Dijon and Havre Athletic all fighting to stay safe. Bordeaux play 4th placed Lyon.

Gotaga has scored 5 goals since January, while spending a lot of time injured, meaning he has scored 7 in 14 starts. Inexperienced Rod Fanni has a huge task to keep Bordeaux up as experts say this could be a real hard hit on Bordeaux with a number of players lining up moves away.

There's also a huge fight on at the top of the table, PSG play Europa League chasers Stade Rennais, while Marseille play safe AJ Auxerre.

Bordeaux - Lyon

Things were tense and we knew what we had to do.

We started off well, I created a few chances but nothing came off it. There was whispers in the crowd that Lens were losing, meaning our point was all good.

However, on the verge of half time they broke away and scored. Meaning we were on our way down.

BORDEAUX 0 - 1 LYON
(half time)

We lost the ball in their half and Hemed broke, played a quick one-two at the half way stage and was away and scored.

We were 2-0 with 20 minutes to go.

Grenier scored an absolute worldy 3 minutes later and we were destined for Ligue 2 football.

Hemed grabbed his 18th with 12 minute to go.

4-0.

Hemed nets his hat trick from the Penalty spot.

5-0.

6-0.

It was a season to forget for Gotaga, for sure. I did alright in the second half of the season but ultimately I was playing with the wrong set of players and just couldn't get anything going.

I don't want to play in Ligue 2 again, maybe it's time to leave France?

I was transfer listed with several other players after the relegation was set. A few of us requested to leave the following day and got our request.

Bordeaux
Ligue 2 20/21

It was another season for me in Ligue 2, a league I had no real issues with and this would be me hunting a second promotion in 3 years from the second tier of French football. It was set to be another decent year for me as Bordeaux ran a debt.

This came in February, unfortunately I was sidelined for 7 weeks and never really got scoring again. However, I certainly played my part in our promotion.

We didn't win the league, however, and our poor run at the end of the season cost Rod Fanni his job.

This crazy turnover of managers can't be good for the club.

I did solid, took me a while to settle and I couldn't really keep consistent but everyone around me said I was solid enough, so I will take it.

At the end of the season there was talk that I would be on my way out due to financial problems, however fans didn't want to see this happen. I didn't really know what I wanted but I knew I wasn't prepared to take a cut.

Instead, despite financial troubles, Loic Remy came in as new boss and through a lucrative contract me way. Worth just over £1m per season. Yes mate!

Congrats on earning promotion again. That kid from PSG is ridiculous!!

Bordeaux
Ligue 1 - 21/22

It was a big season, Loic Remy was in his first job and had to prove himself while I was desperate to show I could really cut it in Ligue 1 and pay the fans back for getting me that contract.

I spent some time out injured but still managed to bust another record with months still to go.

As a club we did better than we had done in a long time with a solid top half finish.

668464b3352479b620677ccafe4a0cf0.png

Loic Remy told us at the end of the season:
"This is a great starting point, we have the foundations to really push the team on and compete in Europe once again. That has to be our goal, we can't let our guard slip."

Again, I felt I was a huge impact on our league standings. I was so consistent throughout the year and netted when I had to net. I didn't break in the top 3 goalscorers of the year but I was still a major talking point with links to Marseille popping up around March, but no contact came through.

I was really happy with hitting 20 goals, I'd done it once before with AJ Auxerre in Ligue 2 but it's a good feeling however I do need to work on cutting down suspensions. Yellows come way too much for me.

I'm now happy again at Bordeaux, I am excited by Loic Remy as a manager too. He has given me special treatment and has said that he see's some of himself in me too.

I have no reason to leave the club but I would not mind a move to England, or Spain. Them Leagues are special and I want to meet new people and experience different cultures.

Bordeaux' Push for Europe

85c530d1de69a4b28cb0a8d696f27654.png

This was another huge season for Bordeaux as Loic Remy really wanted to see us push on from last year and return to the European stage. He brought in another striker and changed up his style of play. This didn't mean I didn't play but meant I would spend some of my time playing just behind a striker, or sometimes get joined up front by 2 other strikers.

Me being a glory hunter was a little saddened by this as I was desperate to score all the goals and be great, instead over 30 goals got spread between myself, Borven and Rolan.

We got our European spot on the final day and we are now set to return to the Europa League, a prospect I am more than excited about as it will be my first games in any club European competition.

We are all excited and Loic Remy is being praised from all over for returning us back to European football and has had some interest from clubs in England but looks set to remain at Bordeaux thankfully.

As much as I would love a move to England, why would I leave the beautiful port city of Bordeaux?

fdfc883621b4cfc2d4bbe694c909755f.png

I am on very good money, working with a very exciting coach. It's a beautiful place and a little better than what I see of living in England.

4a45a70695966e835f7f194187217cef.png

My season wasn't as great as it could have been as there was a second striker brought in and Mr Remy opted for a super attacking system with 3 men up front. But I am still happy with how I did and an unfortunate goal drought cost me a little.

It's another steady season as I try and push into France reckoning but we shall see.

You're turning into a quality player! Auxerre have done so well since those odds were shown! :p
And that 17 year old at PSG :O Was he from their youth system or did they buy him?

You are having much better luck this time than last time! Would he insane if you made it into the France setup! And that regen?! XD

The regen is disgusting, so many 20's at 17!! Would love to make the France squad but when there's regens like that bouncing about I doubt that will happen!
