Player valued over £36m ????

I know depending on currencies used etc 36m might not be a lot, but when playing the game in Pounds Sterling (UK Currency) the highest valued players are always around £36m/

That was until earlier when I saw Gerard Pique was valued at £48.5m. Does anyone know how this could have happened? I have never seen this before.


Also, I am aware that if a player is bought for eg. £70m they will show up on the transfer center as worth that much, but Pique was not recently bought. I am in summer 2015 and he is still at Barca.

He had an epic season. He signed a long term contract on huge wages. There has been a lot of transfer interest surrounding him, possibly even bids from other clubs that have been declined.

Or probably a combination of all those factors will see a players price increase.

Usually my strikers are always over 40 million for my team. Usually are up there for top scorer mostly so that seems to have a part and ues I am using UK currency. Highest I seen is 44 million I think.

On my save Pedro went up to about £52 million after he won world player of the year. No idea why his value went up so much as he only won because Spain won the world cup and his average rating was only 7.1 over the year. He didn't even start regularly for Barcelona and was about 32 at the time.

i've seen some strange ones, Giuseppe Rossi went up to around 42 mil after an average season. My friend says he's seen Ryan Babel have a value of around 40 mil as well after moving to Spurs for like 20 mil
