I have noticed during my current saves that many of my players have dropped in value due to lack of football or poor form, which is understandable but those in good form don't seem to increase
why is this?
youngsters and wonderkids have increased but those who have turned there career around (Joey Barton currently first choice england CM) still decrease or stay the same

Carol is now worth only 4mill when he was worth 35 at start
I bought Phil Jones for 17 mill now only worth 11 mill
Rodwell bought for 13 and now 9
Babacar bought for 17 n only worth 7

Jones, Rodwell and Babacar all play for Newcastle (my team) winning for fun atm and all in great form yet value has decreased drastically

I Know this isnt effecting me atm but should I want to sell they would be worth more than the value is suggesting

Sorry if in wrong place, did search but didnt seem to be any threads about it

only thing i can think of for Barton's value going down is his age... other than that i'm a blank.

yeah that sort of explains this for barton but the others seem to be weird

Does it have anything to do with trophies? I always notice an increase in player values after trophy wins. Obv, the more prestigious the trophy the bigger the increase. I think overall performance in competitions like Europe can have an effect too. Might be wrong though.

it all has to do with your clubs world wide repuatation.... win trophies and grow the club the players maximum values will start increasing.... it happens alot with "smaller" clubs....

I had bought Ganso for around 15million in patch 11.2 and after 1 season he was set at 22.5million!

of course your older players will most likely drop in value...

win as much as you can, become one of the big boys and you will see that it will change :)

Age, length of contract and current playing stats play a big role in current value. What you paid for them rarely represents what the games values them at.

When you first buy someone, they will automatically be valued at that price, but then it will decrease back to suit their stats after a season or 2.

Agreed.

Paid 34m for Neuer, but his value has dropped back down to 15m which was the same as before I bought him.
Paid 22m for Eden Hazard, he's down to 13m
Paid 15m for Pastore, he's down to 12m
etc etc

The only player I've bought that hasn't dropped a penny is Rannochia from Inter. I paid 30m for him. Good CB but struggles against lower level clubs (just not interested)
