Players becoming staff: total random or not?

Love to see my former players becoming succcesfull managers (or scouts, coaches or directors), but every time I am a few years in the game, I feel like a shitload of generated staff comes in, while the "real" players rarely become succesful managers. Do you have success stories?

Do any of you know if the generation of staff stats for veteran players is pure random, or if there is actually a logic?

That's one of the things Sigames should improve and never do it, i dont remember seeying a retired player with good saff stats, many have good potential but never saw them reach that potential.
