Just a quick question:

If the opposition employ man-marking, what is the best way (TI or PI) to create space for your players?

neither....you simply use a less agressive and more fluid approach to draw them out of their positions....

There isn't a man-marking style. It doesn't exist in modern football and not in FM.

At best, 1 (maybe 2 at a stretch) key players will be specific man-marked. If your tactic is balanced, it'll rely on more than just 1 player. Decent movement between the lines and passing should easily get round this. Also, make sure that the player who is marked has an advantage man for man against his marker.

you essentially utilize a not so much agressive but rather more liquid way to deal with coax them out of their positions, so tolerance and keep the ball moving?

It's when I check the opposition manager profile and it says his marking style is 'man marking' - does it refer to the way he defends set pieces rather than open play?

probably his opposition instructions. When a player is particulary good, it is quite effective to man mark him, even though it may drag you out of position.
